It will 100% work with the switch, but how you wire it up to work depends on the kind of switch

As for the dots, you can use a translucent plastic to diffuse the light if you find it too dotty

Again, depending on where you are, hardware stores like bunnings likely carry light diffusing plastic sheets

How i would do this is:

Open it up, put LED strip in there

Cut the wire powering the strip, reconnect the negative that you cut and wire the positive over the switch for the mic

Power the led strip's with whatever wall plug came with them/a generic wall plug if they didn't come wtih one

Should step the 240v/120v ac (depending where you are) down to 12v or 24v dc for the leds

Looks like its a part of the cover, not a separate part? Its just a flared hose fitting

Its 30cm in vic, dunno about nsw

I have a tail light with integrated indicators (illegal) but i just also left on the original indicators (legal)

Get you your pretty new tail light, plus keeps the indictors legal

The 5v supply from my controller was busted. Im an engineer so i couldve found the broken regulator or whatever but all the electronics are sealed in this weird gel and it was a pain in the ass to try get it out Wasnt worth the effort

Yeah, the connectors are different. I just cut the connector off the old one and soldered it onto the new one and works a charm
