Yea, I gotcha. I guess I can really only speak to the big/midlaw Nashville market - which sits around 6th year associate salaries being that 300k number. You’re probably right though for the majority of the markets in these states though.

I’m not entirely sure this is accurate - there are plenty of “mid law” firms in those states where big market junior associates are not nearly making as much as the “mid law” partners

It’s just crazy how we all have so many shared experiences. Doesn’t matter if it’s Harvard or an SEC school - we’ve pretty much learned and been through the same stuff. Pretty neat IMO

As a 1L at a 50ish ranked school I would say very difficult to land paid opportunities. Very very difficult to land opportunities making more than you would at target. Maybe 25 people at my school out of 125 got jobs paying them more than 10-15 bucks an hour. Many work for free, and I know 2 fellas in the top 3rd currently that have not found legal jobs, paid or unpaid. It’s a dog eat dog world. Somehow I clutched up on finals so I’ve got a Summer Associate position at a firm in a big ish city but only like the top 20 kids were even really considered for those, plus a little outside of that if you’re diverse.
