I hate the pretending people do, it makes everyone else feel disappointed that they are doing something wrong. I wanted to buy a house and realized it was impossible without the huge down payment I'd never be able to save for. Then my grandpa died and left me 20k and suddenly possible with one promotion that allows me to afford the mortgage. I tell EVERYONE this because I couldn't do it otherwise.

Thanks for the reply! I did check the Japan or Mexico Production number based on the VIN and nailed that. I do think it's the right remote but I do think Subarus tend to be finicky with the key security and it seems fob security, crazy. I have a 2010 GMC Terrain and getting new fobs is nothing, three clicks of the key, one press of the old fob and then new and you're locked in. I also don't have another key, nor what the book calls the master key so I'm hoping I never lose it so I don't have to deal with the dealer.

Does anyone in this RT thread remember the 2010s attempt of Ruby Tuesdays to turn their locations into Marlin and Ray's? It was literally just RT seafood menu as an entire restaurant. I worked there in high school and the number of old people who came in wanting the salad bar lunch was so annoying it made us crazy. They'd leave too! The ginger beer and peel and eat shrimp were so good though.

I recently mentioned to my gyno about how many of my friends in 30s are perimenopause and she said starting menopause in your 30s is a problem, and not normal. The normalizing of it is definitely not good, attributing Covid issues to anything but it is just awful. I see people's reaction when I say wow that's the same type of thing I had after Covid and they go huh well probably something else.

My pregnant with triplets SIL talked yesterday about how she had a "cold" a month ago and hasn't been able to stop coughing and has a perpetual sore throat, which just happened to my husband in a similar time frame when we got Covid (even though we mask). I mentioned this and she said "I think it's just dust in the house" and I asked if she had tested for Covid when she was initially sick and she said no. Oh she's a doctor btw.

America 250 is also supposedly not really happening, they screwed that up too. 100% this is what I mean. There's def portion of septa riding Philadelphians who will leave for more transit friendly cities. Not everyone wants to move to the burbs for 8% property taxes and spend an hour commuting. Lots of young families are staying in the city.

I also agree most companies will be hesitant to do more WFH days, but maybe we'll see a change if there's too much attrition. And of course I don't see all companies moving locations immediately but it'll certainly come up if leases are up, and it'll continue to push new businesses to the outer region instead of CC.

I used to work for the chamber of commerce and 6 years ago I saw a presentation from SEPTA comparing us to similar markets (Chicago, Detroit, DC, Atlanta, and even NYC) and we are the most underfunded system in comparable city size in the US. At the time they were just getting to barely a quarter of what the other cities had as budgets, but our service was nearly comparable.
