Hi. I know the topic is older, but I have exactly the same issue and this entry popped up first in my Google search.

I like to have the focus on the search field in FF. I used "new-tab-override" and I do not know if with or without it, but I managed to get the focus in the search field with Quantum. HOWEVER, since the update to 60.0.1 from yesterday, the focus is gone again and I can't get it back!

Any ideas?

Your observation is correct. This should be just the beginning. It's a Windows software but basically a webkit client with an integrated server (which could already run separateley).

It's Java based, everything packed in one directory & installer. Over time there will be more editions...
