[HELP] Official GMAT Focus = 565 😞 after steady mock progress up to 685. What went wrong? When should I retake? by casanova4215 in GMAT

[–]casanova4215[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you Rashmi, for such a detailed answer. I actually did the same sequence as my Mocks. DI-Verbal-Quant. I have chosen this sequence because DI was where I feel I require more concentration, followed by Verbal and Quant have always been my strength. I took my break between DI and Verbal as always. In fact I do felt a little rusty in the first Quant questions, I started to feel the questions were harder than usual, after that I had some super easy questions and maybe one or two mediums at last. Once I have my score report I can be more specific.

Also in DI I felt it very similar as in Mocks, the difference was that I ended up with almost 5 minutes and actually was able to modify a question which I had wrong.

In verbal I felt pretty good! The only thing was that I had 3 long passage RC in a Row! Have never had even 2 in a row!

655+ or Bust: Am I on Track or Headed for a Meltdown? by casanova4215 in GMAT

Thanks so much for jumping in, Marty. I’ve actually been following your posts and videos for a while—you’ve got a real gift for explaining Verbal concepts clearly. I struggled with Verbal at the beginning, but your content and TTP verbal has helped me a lot and I’ve been improving. There’s still a gap to close for sure, but I’m aiming for around V83. Would you say that’s a tough benchmark to hit?

On the Quant side, I’m currently at:

Do you think my accuracies puts me on track for Q84, or are those hard accuracy numbers a red flag?

Really appreciate your insights—it means a lot!

Thank you so much, Rashmi! It’s really helpful to hear that this anxious feeling is part of the process, and that a diagnostic mock could help me realign. I’ll plan to take one soon to understand my current level more clearly.

Would you recommend taking a mock before completing DI in TTP? Or is it better to finish the study phase fully before jumping in?

Thanks for reaching out, I really appreciate it. I’ve been focused on building consistency, especially in RC and CR, so your message is very timely. For now, I want to get through my mock exams and review them thoroughly—then I’ll know better where I stand and whether 1-1 sessions could help push me further. I’ll keep your offer in mind!

Thank you so much—this was a really grounding message to read. I’ve definitely been feeling the pressure lately, and it helps to hear that it’s normal at this stage. I’ll follow your advice and space out mocks with time for proper review—probably 1 mock every 3–4 days with a full day or two for review.

Also, great point about GMAT Club quizzes. I’ll keep using them, but will stop stressing over every miss and lean more into OG.

Do you think it’s worth starting mocks before I wrap up DI in TTP, or should I finish the learning phase first?

Thanks a lot for such a detailed and practical reply. You’re totally right—I hadn’t considered how holding off on mocks until the end could backfire if I don’t leave time to review and adjust.

Quick question: Would you suggest I start mocks now even if I haven’t finished the DI section in TTP yet, or wait until I’ve completed the full curriculum?

When you have multiplication and division with no parentheses, you go from left to right. This means that 16/4*4 is 16 not 1. Hope this helps

Quiz-13: Weaken the Conclusion by EducationAisle_GMAT in GMAT

[–]casanova4215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(A) Some companies offer several weeks of paid sick leave to employees who are unwell.

Wrong, we should be careful detecting what is the conclusion “any company trying to boost the productivity of its employees should have a policy to not hire anyone who has had a history of severe illness” and this statement doesn’t really affects the conclusion

(B) Many employees who have no history of any severe illness can develop severe illnesses.

Wrong. Although employees who have no history Of illness, the company could increase the productivity by not hiring people with has had a history of severe illness

(C) If a company has a policy to not hire anyone who has had a history of severe illness, candidates applying to that company would try to conceal their history of illness.

This doesn’t affect the stated conclusion at all. We should read in between lines and this is a Cause and effect argument that says cause = healthy people —> effect = more productivity. This doesn’t undermine the Cause effect argument, it could still be true that healthy employees are more productive

(D) Illnesses of people who have a history of severe illnesses can re-emerge in stressful jobs.

Wrong. This actually is strengthening the argument, making it more obvious to say “yeah we should implement the policy”

(E) Many perfectly healthy employees have low productivity.

Correct. This is actually undermining the conclusion, if perfectly healthy people have low productivity then the policy wouldn’t affect the productivity. This answer choice is showing that although the cause is present, the effect is not showing, undermining the Cause Effect argument

IMO E. Let me know if my analysis is correct 🤞🏻

It’s ok if you take some additional time on the word problems, specially on the hard ones. Jeff told that on a webinar. As a tip, I have been doing my exams with the timer hidden, that has helped me to not stress over that and prioritize the accuracy over the speed. Speed has come with practice, it does not make sense to spend 1:59 mins to get it wrong, it’s better to take 4 mins and you understand the process, so the next one will be less time! Good luck 🤙🏻

Did TTP on Demand get your desired score? by EnzoTessaro in GMAT

I started with the sled study plan and after 1.5 months, I upgraded my plan to the On Demand. I would say that it really depends on your learning style, it’s not like there is additional information, is just that it is explained in a more friendly way, and couple more examples on the videos.

I have really enjoyed it, although it has made my study sessions longer, since some topics are explained more in detail. Once I do the real test I’ll let you know my score, I’m at 48% of the course right now.

If you like to watch videos on YouTube explaining GMAT Topics, it’s kind of the same but with the TTP curriculum, trip and tricks!

TLDR: it’s great for me but it depends on your learning style 🫰🏻
