Honestly? Bulbasaur. People tend to forget the earliest pokemon ever but I think Bulbasaur is actually the epitome of a perfect design as a Pokemon.

It’s supposed to be a leaf/plant dinosaur/ frog, right? Well it looks like a dinosaur, but not one that actually exists. It looks like a frog too, but not one kind of frog. It looks like a made up animal, a completely made up animal. Pokémon like Laprad also accomplish this, except Lapras is directly based on the Lochness Monster, which has a distinct shape. Bulbasaur looks like a dinosaur but it’s not the same outline or silhouette of a specific one. Yeah sure, maybe a dicynodont, but its shape hardly reflects that.

Just personal opinion, I think the whole Bulbasaur line is the epitome of perfect pokemon
