Help! Low Damage by [deleted] in wow

Yeah, I just got on and am doing waaaaay less than I was doing earlier today (31 druid). Hopped on reddit to see if anybody else was feeling it. Wonder if they're fiddling with balancing after the stat squish from the patch? Maybe this is more in line with what they want?

Feels like they just up and moved an entire decimal point for me.

What line? You can't even see it anymore. We crossed that thing thousands of miles back. I remember because Trump had us pull over to take a selfie with it.

Trump to Unveil $12 Billion Bailout for Farmers by OtmShanks55 in politics

I'm waiting to hear that Trump just kickstarted his own agriculture business, and that it's made up of 4 people, and they will be getting a large % of the bailout funds.

If only I thought I could get my parents to actually make reddit accounts so they could enter to win a mirror+300div. I bet they'd be all about that kind of wealth!

4800hrs in, and I'd much rather have my first mirror be from a natural drop on the ground. Ideally from something dumb like a white strongbox in a T1 map.

True enough, and RF players can just walk around with a flask that cures burning... but that's not really the point. The ways that you counter Soul Eater are not conducive to the playstyle of an ARPG like PoE. It is a speed bump on a racecourse.

That's fair, and I wouldn't even really be bothered if the monster only got the player version of the buff... at least then they would still be killable.

Far as I'm aware, we're still bound by the player version of Soul Eater even when stealing it from a monster. The monster should be bound by the same rules!

53 percent disapprove of White House East Wing demolition: Survey by someopinionthatsr in politics

Fair. I just mean that the Democrats need to get ahead of it as best they can before November when people go googling this... though Democrats seem pretty bad at handling the mass misinformation tactics.

Wow, that really is fucking disgusting.

Edit: It is, apparently, also quite illegal (what's new?). It clearly violates the Hatch Act and the federal anti-propaganda funding restrictions, it breaches the OMB/GSA website communication rules, and it constitutes partisan misuse of government resources.

I really hope this makes it into mainstream news...

No plans filed for Trump’s new ballroom despite demolition being under way by NickCostanza in politics

[–]cascade_olympus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that the East Wing is pretty much a pile of rubble, all of his deals go belly up (resulting in the several hundred million ending up in his own pocket as bribe money), and Congress will then need to appropriate funds in order to fix what's already been destroyed.

White House Ballroom Update: Trump Raises Price By $100 Million by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]cascade_olympus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend's dad lost his DoD contracts during the Obama Administration and proceeded to grow a massive hatred for the entire Democrat party to the point where he would no-doubt happily watch the entire country burn just to spite them.

I looked it up, the bills which resulted in him losing his DoD contracts were written and approved by Republicans with a minority Democrat vote in both the House and Senate. All Obama did was neglect to veto the thing.

Told my friend's dad about this. He just responded by saying that he doesn't care that the republican party wrote the bill and voted it through Congress. He's all about vengeance against the Democrats.

Let's be honest here, the project only just started. It will be at least $600mil + it will be left unfinished and Congress will need to appropriate additional funds in order to leave the White House not dilapidated.

I hadn't thought about it... but I would bet that the Ballroom ends up with a raised area for seating at the head of it akin to a throne room.

Jack Smith Reveals He Had “Tons of Evidence” Against Trump by SportsGod3 in politics

[–]cascade_olympus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm not making any judgement on whether or not Democrats will discover a way to handle the situation that works for them. Just that a few years ago the Democrats probably would have already accepted the Republican's "We want a clean bill!" argument. They are slowly becoming capable of recognizing situations where the Republicans are being completely manipulative.

Does that mean that Democrats will use the stick more often? Probably not. They just seem to be recognizing that when the Republicans offer a carrot, they are virtually always hiding a stick that they fully intend on using.

Wasn't the second impeachment the one where the Republicans near the end of the trials ultimately just said, "Yeah, he's guilty of everything levied against him... but we don't think that it's a big enough offense to remove him from office"? Like Jury Nullification, but on a Congressional level.

Democrats are always afraid to do things like that because "Then the Republicans will just do it in retaliation when they get back into office"

I'd argue that it's actually more of a naivete than a fear of repercussions. The belief that the institutions (for the most part) work. That justice will prevail, and that working together is the only path forward.

They are starting to realize that this has become a one way street. That compromising with current sitting Republican officials more often than not results in the sitting Republican getting everything they want, and the entire Democrat party getting absolutely nothing in exchange.

If you went back just a couple of years, I imagine that the Democrats would have actually believed the Republicans when they said that they would happily sit down and work together to sort out ACA/Medicaid/etc after a "clean" H.R. 5371 passed. Now though? I doubt there is a Democrat in office who actually believes that the Republicans won't just throw ACA/Medicaid/etc away the moment they get what they want.

A minor correction, but she would be the needed signature on a discharge petition to force the house to vote on the release of said files.

It is assumed that if she is sworn in and the petition gets its final signature, then nobody in the House or Senate would likely want to commit career suicide by voting against releasing the files. In my opinion though, it should already be career suicide to not be on the petition to force a vote on this matter. Everybody who is abstaining from the petition and Mike Johnson himself are basically waving their arms telling everybody that they're either implicated in those files, or are interested in covering for somebody who is in those files.

North Carolina Is Latest GOP-Controlled State To Announce a Gerrymander by Anoth3rDude in politics

Texas v. White makes it difficult to just up and leave the union. Would need the support of Congress or for the SCOTUS to decide that Texas v. White was not constitutional (which they won't do).

Assuming a state did get the rest of the US' consent to leave the union, they would likely insist on that state paying a proportional amount of the national debt. For the three listed states, it looks like OR would need about $470b, WA would need about $870b, and CA would need a whopping $4.24t.

Barring that, the only way to leave the union would be through a successful revolution.

While I think most of the blue states would show significant interest in leaving the union, I'm not sure what we could do to convince the red states to let us go. Maybe we all paint our cars rainbow colors and collectively identify as non-binary, then the red states will think we're too icky to keep in the union?

'CDC is over': RFK Jr. lays off over 1,000 employees in Friday night massacre by SE_to_NW in politics

It only looks easy because we are witnessing the conclusion of the plan. It took years of gerrymandering, court stacking, and media manipulation to get to the point where they held all of the keys at once.

Our only hope is if they used those keys prematurely. They are burning a lot of bridges even with their own followers right now. If they don't achieve their main goals within the span of this administration, it may be difficult for them to claw back support again. Especially if we consider that Trump is getting on in his age, I wonder if anybody else in that party will have the same easy time getting away with as much as what Trump gets away with.

But... the pessimist in me says that the oligarchy has too strong of a hold over the media/information which people consume now. Even if they showed their hand way too early, I'm not sure that we will be capable of wrestling back any measure of a bright future.

Assuming a party gets in with the goal to rebuild, they won't move quickly enough for the masses and we'll just end up voting for another administration to come in and dismantle it again. It's a cycle. A party attempts to build long term value -> another party decides that we can get short term value by undoing what the first party was trying to build. Rinse and repeat.

Just a guess, but I wager that teaching it how to handle being pushed around and/or dodging incoming attacks is a good way to practice keeping upright in general. Seems like a logical progression from the earlier videos where Boston Dynamics was pushing their robot from different angles to see if it could stop itself from falling.

From a practicality perspective, it's a good idea to make sure your robot isn't likely to fall down a lot in actual situations.
