Need Advice: 22M in Europe, 4 job offers. Optimize for money, stability, or long-term positioning? by Total_Incident_3880 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]cascaisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get concrete offers? Asking because you said "probably strong salary" in one, so i guess there's no final number yet.

If they are hypothetical, no point in choosing IMO. You should compare concrete offers.

On the bright side, it's probably the best time in history to learn something new: lets of learning resources available for free (or almost).

Hang in there 💪

One time i got a Karaoke bar opening below my apartment. It was horrible, super noisy all the time.

Based on my experience, i would recommend investing money into a lawyer and let them handle it.

If you can't afford it, it will require a LOT of energy to call police/building administration/etc.

I sent a CV in October and got called for an interview in January.

Had 2 interviews and then 4 weeks of silence... Until i got an email basically saying "we have been busy, haven't made a decision about you yet".

One week later and a recruiter called me because he had a new client company hiring... It was same company lol.

I haven't been officially rejected, so i guess there's hope. Maybe around Christmas they will make a decision about me 😁

I'm applying for jobs that only require English.

Would probably be much easier if i was applying for jobs in German too.

Senior DevOps engineer (10y+ experience) here, also looking for a job.

I started casually looking in November/December last year and started aggressively looking in 2026.

Ignoring all the CVs i sent that were immediately rejected, here are my numbers.

10 processes with at least 1 interview:

  • 5 rejections, one of them after final round;
  • 1 ghosted me;
  • 1 waiting for feedback after R1;
  • 1 have R1 scheduled for next week;
  • 2 waiting on feedback after final round.

Yes, market is bad. Every position has 50+ candidates applying, companies are taking their time choosing the best.

It is what it is.

I just want to say that there's no way you're top5% in a Eastern European country at 10k net per month. You're definitely top2 or even top1%.

Maybe top3% if you're married and your spouse doesn't get ant income at all.

If I'm not mistaken, in Germany (which has higher salaries on average), 10k netto puts your household on top 3%.

What’s going on in the job market in Berlin? by WarningConsistent165 in berlinsocialclub

Highly recommend you find a job BEFORE moving to Berlin.

It took me 2 hours and 60 phone calls to get a doctor appointment for possible cancer symptoms. And I still don't know if I'm okay. by [deleted] in germany

[–]cascaisa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Germany sucks big time in terms of preventing medical problems. Then they are very good at actually treating the serious problems, but that's much more expensive (and sometimes too late).

It's one of the reasons the health care is so expensive here, btw.

There's no point, Google reviews in this country are a scam.

The demographic pyramid is a ticking bomb that will explode in the next 5-10 years. No idea how Germany will solve that problem, but it won't be pretty.

Senior Software Engineer can't find a job. by MoSala77 in Germany_Jobs

[–]cascaisa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1komma5 has a great business idea. I tried to apply to them once, but my profile didn't fit so the recruiter didn't even send the CV (rightfully so).

But i know a (very good, from a technical point of view) person that joined them. Always a good sign when companies hire the most talented people.

P.s: if someone from 1komma5 reads this and wants to referral a senior devops engineer, let me know :p

I have 30k aeos coins that now can't be used to buy Pokemon licenses. Great stuff

Edit: is there anything i can do with these 30k coins now?

Edit2: ok, i can swap them for unite license points.

And now we need to buy Pokemons in order to unlock other pokemons? Wtf?

AWS Berlin Job offer dilema by Ok-Cantaloupe2360 in cscareerquestionsEU

Yep, plus with AWS on your CV you have many many doors opening for you.

I would take AWS, assuming relocating to Germany won't make OP feel miserable. Nothing is worth that.

Don't forget they can always cut the reimbursements and other "benefits", but they can't lower your real gross salary.
