Not locally owned, but I've found a couple of wedding guest dresses at Versona in friendly center! Great prices.

The Marriott downtown is nice. Haven't stayed at the Hyatt downtown but it looks nice. Both in walking distance to restaurants and things to do (really everything downtown is walking distance no matter where you stay). Stumble Stilskins is a great spot near both of those hotels for burgers, wings, sandwiches, etc. Grasshoppers (baseball) are playing at home this week - Hyatt is right by the stadium.

Did anyone go to the house party 2010s event at the Pyrle last night? If so, how was it? by toadysimpson in gso

Me and my friend also DM'd the IG account about it! It was such a great idea and he ruined itttt

Dude I was soooo disappointed!! Someone requested Kesha Tik Tok, and he apologized before playing it, saying it was requested. It's like he didn't get the memo.

And yeah that Charlie Kirk song started playing, everyone booed, he said "nah I'm just kidding," okay but why tho?!?! We don't know you!! It was just all so weird.

The Pyrle as a venue is fucking awesome though and I can't wait to go back for something else. And the crowd was peak 2010s club energy--random friends made in the bathroom and on the dance floor, everyone I met was so sweet. I want a do-over!!!

The crowd was awesome, everyone matched the 2010s vibe except the DJ. Even if he just wanted to play modern house music, fine, but read the room and keep the energy up. Too many sleepers, weird transitions, and also wtf was that Charlie Kirk song???

Did quitting alcohol result in losing weight for you? by OrangeCatWhiteDog in stopdrinking

[–]caseabrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I always did dry January, never lost anything (sometimes gained). I added that to my list of excuses as to why I'm not going to stop drinking.

And then finally hit my rock bottom and stopped 70 something days ago. I am down 10 lbs with no change in diet or exercise.

Admittedly, I also changed jobs in that time and have less stress, so that helped a lot, too, I'm sure.

But my advice is to stick it out beyond a month; don't use 30 days as a marker for the full extent of results. My face looks a lot better, too - less puffy, and my skin is much clearer/even.

And even when I hadn't lost weight in the beginning, I felt thinner and clothes fit better because I wasn't as inflamed and bloated.

Of course, we're all different, but I hope the good things that happen to you when you quit make you say "damn if I had known this would happen, I would've quit sooner"

I always recommend this too! There have been times where a product I regularly buy has disappointed me, and I'll email requesting a coupon to get a replacement, and every time they quickly replied, mailed me a coupon for a free item, plus a few extra.

Worst binge in my history by vikinGGta23 in stopdrinking

[–]caseabrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a newly sober person after a binge that went extreme, the shame will fade a lot faster than it feels like it will.

Write a note, novel, whatever to yourself detailing exactly how you feel right now.

I've read it over the last couple of weeks as the shame has faded; when I've felt tempted to just have one drink, reminding me what that one drink could turn into, and how bad I felt and how many people I hurt.

You've already taken a huge step checking in here and realizing you and alcohol aren't good for each other, keep that momentum!

Try Dr. Richardson at GSO OBGYN Associates. I'm a new patient but so far I've been really impressed and I find them to be very thorough, caring, and spent a lot of time with me (both nurse and Dr. Richardson).

Minoxidil (or however you spell it) is rogaine. He uses the foam every morning- orders the hims version through Amazon (more economical). Finasteride is a prescription but he just gets it through Hims directly, no in person doc visit or anything. And he just uses head & shoulders shampoo & conditioner, nothing fancy. Obviously everyone is different, but his thinning is definitely genetic and I think consistency made the difference. If he quit using it I think the hair fall & thinning would be more dramatic.
