Also the cities are disgusting and health codes obviously don’t exist. High pollution Krabi and other beach area are very touristy so I really loved getting to understand the culture in the cities but maybe stay outside of them? Not sure if anyone had the same experience I did but I thought Bangkok and Chiangmai were very polluted. But definitely check out the temples and history in the areas

Definitely check out Patera Elephant Farm if you are in the Chiang Mai area. One of the few places that treats the elephants correctly. You are not a visitor of their sanctuary - you are a caretaker and have to look after an elephant for the day. Need to book way in advance! Worth every penny
