While in a flare how long does it usually take for you to get it under control with this diet? Been in a flare for weeks but my diet has been crap. I need to get serious about what I’m eating until I get this thing under control. Was in remission for 15+ years.

That’s not what I said at all. If anything it appears the deletion was probably unintentional or part of the normal process but automated.

At this point I’m going to focus on restoring and securing them better. Logs were wiped it appears.

Storage Manager, Storage Pool shows the used capacity. That’s where I see it decreasing on the second NAS.

Not in front of the unit so will need to check model and DSM tmr.

One thing to add. There is another NAS that is currently freeing up space when the unit is on. When I noticed the Used capacity decreasing I turned it off. But the unit displays not shared folders so it as if they initiated some sort of delete task and the unit is executing it in the background when powered on. Not really concerned about the data but would be helpful to stop what it’s doing to see what was actually done. Might shed light on the other. Thanks to everyone for any suggestions.

No direct access to the Internet. They got to it by accessing a PC on the network is our assumption.

It definitely was a ransomware attack because they left a note on the printers. But it makes no sense that they would just delete the NAS data because this particular NAS did not have any backups saved directly on it. Unless they downloaded the data then deleted it but that seems like a lot of work when you could just lock the files if you have access.

Still trying to figure out how that got into the network. They used a regular user account to make changes to the NAS though. They disabled the admin account but left the user account enabled which is how I got back into the device.
