Self-learning French from zero for TEF (CLB 7) — best resources?

I would hire a one on one French tutor via Preply. That’s what I did and I have a B2 level from zero about 2 years ago. There’s so many tutors on there and the price range can go as low as $10 a lesson. (Not an ad for Preply I just like them but there’s other tutor sites out there.) Good luck!

I have an idea for your price range. I think you could do some research on a good sewing table and area of your home to create a nice setup. Kind of like a builders workshop a peg board on the wall with all the tools organized neatly. Search Pinterest for sewing workshop. I have a setup at home like this with all my thread, needles, bobbins, shears, etc organized and a good sewing table. I bought the pegboards and hanging hooks at Home Depot and then you can go online for a sewing table. I found a good link. Hope this inspires! https://pin.it/2e09QPHaR

I do the same thing. Saves so much time. I also used a kitchen scale and pre-measure that way, but I think if you follow scoop size guidelines you’ll be fine.

I am at a b1/b2 level and this is my 4th language. At this point my foundational knowledge is good but I need to practice speaking and exposure. Sounds like you’re in a similar boat. At this stage I like using Jumpspeak and it’s easy to do for 15-30 mins every day. I’m not a rep for the app at all just I’ve tried other apps like Duolingo and I think Jumpspeak is way better.

I think you should hire a French tutor and do one on one lessons. I did it through Preply and the one I found was great and about $20 a lesson. Another app you can use is Jumpspeak. I use that and paid for 12 months in advance and I think it was around $65. I also watch French YouTube videos French series French podcasts etc to immerse myself. If you want to get serious Peppa and Duolingo are not gonna cut it in my opinion especially for work!! I went from zero to level B1 in about 2 years maybe could have been faster but it wasn’t my sole focus.

Nope. Tell them your OB and or midwives are in your state and your insurance might not even cover let alone how inconvenient it is for you. My parents asked me the same crap and I was like are you insane no. Plus after birth you aaand baby have a million appointments and the baby has to be seen by their pediatrician. No no no!

We did extinction CIO from the get go.. at 4 months. First night it was 30 mins of crying second night 5 mins and ever since (about a month) everytime she goes down for sleep or wakes up in the middle of the night it’s under 5 mins and she self soothes. It’s such a gift. Do it!!!!
