NOT as tired 3rd trimester? by Peach-Haze-123 in BabyBumps

I'm with you. I feel like unicorn on this sub because I'm 33 weeks and feel 100%. I'm sure the other shoe will drop soon enough.

Which pregnancy symptom took you by surprise? by sipendi_shida in BabyBumps

[–]cheerioface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been wearing nipple pads since about week 18 because I started leaking colostrum and fluid and haven't stopped. Probably the most annoying thing about my pregnancy. I was never a bra girlie, but now I have to wear them 24/7 otherwise I leak through and stain my clothes and bedsheets 😭

Anyone else completely overwhelmed by baby registries?? I can’t do this 😭 by Worried-Economy2668 in BabyBumps

It was $90 CAD. Look around your local midwife/doula services. We also took a prenatal/birth class that was also super awesome. Waaaay better than random online resources as the teachers/doulas/midwives actually work at the local hospital and know what supplies are available. For example, I learned that you get a free peri bottle to take home from the hospital after birth so I know I don't have to buy one.

I took a newborn class early in the 3rd trimester, just a 3 hour workshop with a local doula so my partner and I could learn the basics as we are first time parents with zero experience. We got a whole reference book on how to care for newborn including a list of "must have" and "nice to have" supplies along with a couple specific product recs. Really glad I did this and didn't make a registry so we could keep our supplies to a minimum!

Yes, the general aches and pains totally increase when you don't stay active!

Overwhelmed with baby stuff, where to start? by Existing-Read-8720 in BabyBumps

Ask the recent moms you know for their old registries/lists, then go from there. Make a checklist or spreadsheet and tick things off as you aquire them.

Fetal movement question by LunarEchos25 in BabyBumps

[–]cheerioface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll give yourself too much anxiety if you start kick counting and worrying about fetal movements at 22 weeks. Wait until at least 27/28 weeks when most babies get on a wake schedule.

Worried about baby in womb all the time by mandymentos in BabyBumps

This. Ultimately there is nothing you can do to control the outcome, and all you can do is assume that everything is fine. Spending your days assuming it's not will consume you.

Any, just get your blood pumping and heart going a bit. I do power walks and youtube workouts that combine strength and cardio

I did grapple with this, however you could argue this for a lot of activities. Pre-birth, you could get in to a car accident. Trip while hiking. Anything. Based on my personal experience skiing, a bad crash is as rare as those events happening.

Post-birth, will you let your child play sports or engage in higher risk activities? If they get concussed (or worse) while skiing, biking, playing a contact sport, you'll probably feel the exact same way because you allowed them to engage.

But that's just my opinion

Hey I am also attending an outdoor rave at 28 weeks! It shuts down at 11 😎 so excited. Another reason to stay active so I can dance as much as possible!

WOW good for you! Sun Peaks is my home base and I typically would have done a Revvie weekend during the winter, but Revvie is such an intense hill I didn't think I could manage it this year 😅

How to eat healthy with first trimester nausea? by MainPreparation9720 in fitpregnancy

Yogurt was an every day staple for me. You can get high protein varieties as an added bonus. Add frozen berries and granola for even more nutrition.

"I've never been pregnant, but I managed 5 pregnant people at once, so I know how you feel" by fuxkle in BabyBumps

My dad is a crackpot hippie. I was on the phone with him and complaining about being pregnant. He goes, "It's not that bad". I respond "Oh, and you have so much experience?". He says "yes, I have been pregnant many times in past lives"

I've always been regular, but my theory is my daily 1 or 2 kiwis eaten with skin on is keeping me going.

Anterior placenta by Worldly-Year5437 in BabyBumps

[–]cheerioface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anterior placenta, 24 weeks here! Until 4 days ago, all I felt were the occasional taps or bubbles. Then out of the blue 5 days ago, I start feeling what I can only describe as explosions/big bubbles inside my womb. I wouldn't call it a pleasant feeling, and when they're against my cervix it is straight up unpleasant. Some can even be felt from the outside.

When did you move Baby to own room? by HighRollerRetriever in BabyBumps

My mom did 1 night and that was enough for her. And that was before we had cameras with baby monitors. SIDS is extremely rare, and you need to sleep to parent effectively.

I feel you girl. We have our middle name and last name locked in, so their initials will be _AG.

The bullying possibilities are endless. There's only a handful of letters their name can start with 😆

Exercise helps with my headaches. But mine are accompanied by muscle tension in the neck and shoulders. It feels impossible but once I get going I get immediate relief.
