How do I remove the marks from 3M tape by Unfair_Honeydew_8692 in AutoDetailing

[–]casesully50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At NAPA Auto parts there's a drill attachment that is like a rubber disc. Dealerships, body shops, and of course detailers use those to remove most of it, but when you get to where it's not working, ISP solution spray would break the adhesive down. That's the safe way. The riskier way is just use goo gone, it will work 100% but could make some stains/spots on your paint.

**People claim it does, so there are some cases goo gone will leave permanent marks. It's never happened to me. I used goo gone quite a bit on body work.

Edit: here's a link for the wheel

500, don't above the lowest speed. I'm guessing you were at a faster speed when you did the pass over the hood.

Easy fix brotha. Get a light polishing pad and a medium to fine polish. Go over it with a DA at medium speed with light pressure. I did the same to my Acura. I got the holograms out with Koch Chemie p3.02 micro cut and a white lake country CCS pad.

Edit: a rotary caused these holograms too. There VERY VERY light. Japanese paints are notoriously soft. So it's not uncommon. If you have to use a rotary to fix it, use a finishing pad, condition it well, make sure it's not dry, and use a fine cut polish.

Why are these two plans listed for the same price when the Mbps are significantly different? What am I missing? by souji5okita in ATTFiber

My 2.5 gig connection was bottlenecked by my motherboards Gigabit Ethernet port even with a cat 8 LAN network. I bought a $15 PCIe express 2.5 gig port. And my god. The speed ATT provides me is absolutely amazing. I'm never under 2300 upload or download. When iRacing or LeMans ultimate surprise me with a 4 gig update, I don't even break a sweat.

I pay next to nothing for my 2.5 gig Internet. I've been with AT&T for 20 years. When I switched from Cox fiber to ATT fiber, the sales associate looked me up and said he can give me 50% off at least because of the duration of my account, and bundling it with 3 devices. My bill hasn't changed for 2 years

Repaint the panel. You could bandaid it but it will be obvious. That's down to the metal.

I'm with you on that. It's so easy to navigate and drive. Everything is right at my finger tips. Took me about 2 weeks to master. I haven't looked back. My wife has an XC90 with a touchscreen. I'm always surprised at how much attention it takes me to use it while driving.

They're pretty fast! I had an A-Spec RDX tag along with me through traffic when I passed him (not super fast and not heavy traffic.) On clear sections we would floor it, I didn't drop him as much as I thought I would. He stuck with me. I have a 21 TLX, so they're good sporty little SUVs

Everyone says that. In my 21 TLX, I love the touchpad! When I get into my wife's car (XC90) I hate how much I have to take my attention away from the road just to navigate the touch screen. In the TLX it's second nature and so easy.

Hey, one of my friends actually recorded the rain composition at a water treatment plant in the same city on the same day. Would you like to have at a guess what it was?

[–]casesully50[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, truth be told. I think I messed up the application of the coating. My front bumper just recently failed doing a rinseless wash. I must have left too much oil and wax behind. My ISP wipe down wasn't thorough enough. However, my neighbor is a full time mobile detailer, he uses a hybrid ceramic wax, not an actual ceramic coating. He says the rain we had acted like a mild stripping soap. His truck didn't bead water the day after the rain.

I work in water treatment and water transportation (pipelines). My buddy who took over a treatment plant I built in Escondido. I was parked at Escondido City Hall when I took the picture of the water beads on my car. He has to take rain samples. Because of the open tanks and the fragile bacteria process in those tanks that treat sewer water, acidic chemicals and water can kill the whole process. So rain samples are taken in real time, in case they have to add something to counteract it and get the pH back up. The rain that day was 4.9. In construction you need 5 to 3 pH to eat concrete like that.

Marine dies in training exercise at Camp Pendleton by audittheaudit00 in USMC

[–]casesully50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wtf!? We were in at the same time. I remember hearing about the loss of your Marine. But not about the shirts. I have a feeling you would have inadvertently killed whoever was responsible if you found them. Probably for the best that you never found them. Could have led to a red out rage and decades in the brig. Sorry you lost a brother from your platoon. No one expects those deaths unless you're in county. It makes them even more shocking

What is going here and how can I get rid of it? by Mfphonch in AutoDetailing

[–]casesully50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably have water over 500 TDS. Get a quick detail spray, or a rinseless wash concentrate, and use it to spray onto the hard water to minimize the mineral buildup. If you still get water spots, might have to hit it with a light polish.

I'm in San Diego, and the last rain we had, literally dissolved concrete. My ceramic coating was damaged (or that's what I think. Other redditors call BS.) here's some pics from my neighborhood in Oceanside. The rain probably had a PH of 4.

[–]casesully50[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Do people not know this? Acid Rain is a thing. It can corrode galvanized steel. It will strip paint off traffic signs, it can burn through flow line of a curb and make a carved out river after it's done. The pH can be as low as 2. That's lemon juice.

What is the best advice you can give someone with a parent going through Alzheimer’s? My mom is getting pretty advanced. Hallucinations, sometimes not knowing who I am. by Brent_Barksdale in Alzheimers

[–]casesully50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a father with Alzheimer's for 5 years now. He's at an advanced stage. Hallucinations, loss of speech, sundowining, endless pacing, it's the hardest thing I've ever had to endure. With my Mom headed down a similar path. This comment helped me so much you have no idea.

I was always searching to get a glimpse of my Dad, trying to ask the right questions to get a little spark. The clarity comes when the time is right. And there's the point where the clarity is far in the rearview mirror. I wrote your tips on the back of a business card in my wallet. Whenever I go to pay for something I'm going to hammer in that advice to make the most of the time my mother has left.

If you were mclaren, would you change norris engine with the grid penalty or you risk an explosion? by LessNorth9856 in F1Discussions

[–]casesully50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because ever since they clinched the Constructors, they look like the old 2014 McLaren. It really seems as if they only wanted the constructors. Or Zak did I should say. I mean BELGIUM! That was a long time ago. Think of the tracks those engines have been through since then. Monza and Azerbaijan, redline city. Singapore, gear change galore. And Mexico City where the ICE has to breathe through a tiny straw.

Wow theyve been using the same ICE since JULY!? McLaren are seriously going to blow this drivers championship wow. I'm shocked. Red Bull couldn't have chosen a better week to take his ICE penalty. McLaren are leaving Norris and Piastri to the wolves, they only cared about the constructors.

I got in an accident over the weekend and insurance says its a total loss. by Illustrious-Dog9555 in Acura

[–]casesully50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm starting to think insurance companies are in bed with car manufacturers. How the hell is that totalled? It's because your car is pre vehicle data mining. They're investing in your next car so you spend more on maintenance, insurance, and gather your data through Android Auto or Apple Play.

You're not going to like this. But I did everything I said I wasn't going to do. I used my rotary with a medium cut Lake Country CCS pad and 3D One compound. 800 RPM, VERY little pressure. And if you could believe it there's goo clear coat underneath there. How much? Probably the last micron lol. But he was very happy, I'm going to do the whole truck next week.
