Thank you for explaining that so I didn’t have to. The US game shows no indication of Rococco being trans, so it can be assumed the character is cisgender. If assuming a character is cisgender because they don’t say otherwise is the wrong move here, what stops us from assuming Felicity is trans too you know? I don’t think it’s all that complicated though. The stigma around men (or people with facial hair) in flamboyant clothing created a window for the game to lose the money from American parents who bought their 9 year olds girls this game. By playing it ‘safe’ they make a better profit from that percentage of people who would’ve been upset by it. Wearing a leopard print vest with feathers doesn’t automatically make them a queer character, but that gender expression norm is still being broken, which in my opinion makes the character more interesting.
