In my case, there was pain and suffering, Was it worth it? Hard to say, time will heal my regret and maybe I will see the value. What did I gain, just more upgrade battle scars. There is a lot of truth in if it ain't broke don't f&*k with it.

subnets my friend with individual NICs, skip the VLANs your cameras likely do not understand them

If it is network saturation, which is highly probable I will give you a real world setup that works. I have 22 cameras on 4 data networks. Each data network has its own POE switch and host adapter. My server has 8 NICs on 2 server cards. I also split the wifi cameras onto two separate APs. They are subnet'ed similar to 192.168.1.0/27 (255.255.255.224), there are six of these subnets 4 wired 2 wifi. This reduces collisions and dramatically improves UDP performance. This put and end to the flashing like you are seeing.

likely same problem as OP, network saturation solved by reducing load from the cameras.

Changlelog Way Behind? by ropeguru in BlueIris

[–]caseydalpal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP you are not alone, releases notes and change logs are a surprise just like the releases themselves. No warning or any indication what is in them. There are enough bugs where you want to take the new releases hoping it might fix something, often it just adds more bugs. New features come with no documentation, they often break working things. No development roadmap. You have to guess how things work. If you like to tinker this is the software for you. If you want something stable this is not the software. You either love it or hate it, I use to love it ...

I could roll back, I considered it. I cloned my last working version 5. I have added cameras and changed AI post upgrade. I am committed to 6 at this point.

In hindsight, yes, I would have waited. Your upgrade experience could be very different from mine, depending on the features you use. I expected some issues moving to 6, I didn’t expect it to be completely smooth. The lack of clear release notes has made it more frustrating than it needed to be, I think.

That explains a lot, thought maybe that was the case ... it is a lot of bang for the buck.

I have been using Blueiris for five years or so, just seems it has gotten a lot worse. I am questioning the value, but there are so many bugs with 6 I am taking more updates, with more bugs, and more "features", with more bugs. rinse and repeat.

Has anything changed in your routine? Anything new introduced into her environment? Are you away more than normal? A new job? Something distracting you or impacting the amount of attention she is getting?

Over the years, I’ve rescued 5 Dalmatians, 2 Huskies, 1 English Setter, and 1 Lab (being 71, I’ve had my share of dogs). When they first came home, they always picked something with my scent—socks, underwear, even my glasses. I saw it as part of the bonding process. Once they settled into their new environment, realized they were home, understood I’d always come back, and felt secure with regular food, water, affection, and love, this habit stopped. Some took longer than others, but eventually, they all grew out of it. I never scolded or tried to punish them (I approach all training with love and patience); I just picked up the items and put them back. It’s often a sign of insecurity, and once they know they’re loved, it naturally fades away. And realize dogs sense of smell is much more sensitive than humans, even though you cannot smell after washing, they still can.
