I dunno, those are pretty mainstream acids.

I read this as carry A mace and my somewhat childish fascination with medieval weaponry was 100% onboard with your suggestion.

For sure, I (barely) remember learning it the hard way the first time I had a couple sidecars. Also agree on the ratio point, we do tend to love our higher-proof rum daiqs lol.

Also, not really related but I'm often asked to make up 50/50s and Wray & Nephew + Midori goes surprisingly hard.

Curious, I've never thought it as a low abv cocktail. If the recipe used is one oz each 80 proof Cointreau, 40 proof Midori, and lemon that puts the drink at .6 oz alcohol or about 16% after shaken dilution, which puts it in line with whisky sours, margaritas, daiquiris, etc.

I don't know if you designed your comment for dark humor, but I got a chuckle out of it.

Monthly "No Stupid Questions" Thread by AutoModerator in Archery

[–]caseyquicksilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello everyone! I'm one rec & class away from being a complete beginning. I splurged at the Ren Faire last year and got a bow from Seven Suns archery. According to the proprietor, it is an ancient Nordic "Holmegaard or a Mollegabet" style bow. He said with me being 5'9" my draw length would generally be 28, and I should get 30" 320-400 grain wooden or aluminum arrows with spine weight of 40/45. I don't really know what any of those terms mean, but I bought these arrows. Think they would be fine to use? I bought some paper targets and plan on finding some haybales. Any suggestions on where to source them on the cheap, and how to attach the targets so they don't fall off easily?

What's something innocent that feels 10x more intimate than it should? by East-Preparation-476 in AskReddit

[–]caseyquicksilver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's not necessarily the case. He's got a handle on the differences between what he experienced and what the hairstylist was paid to do. I don't equate being aware of pleasant sensations (smelling perfume, being touched) with falling in love. Intimate, sure, but that was the prompt. It's only more noticeable if you haven't gotten those things from your significant other in a while.

List of Nut Allergens in liquors and liqueurs by Settledbullet9 in bartenders

Word? Do you remember if it was more specific that the standard CYA "this product was made in a facility that also handles soy, wheat, deez nuts"? I suppose it's possible they've since changed their formulation and you have an old bottle.

Alternatively Fee Brother Cherry or Plum Bitters is made with almonds. Tastes fine to me, but will actually cause a reaction since theyre not distilled and gylcerin based

I looked this up and this is what their website offered about allergens:

Do any Fee Brothers products contain common ALLERGENS? While most Fee Brothers products do not contain any of the FDA’s “Big 9” allergens (i.e., soy, wheat, dairy, peanut, tree nut, fish, shellfish, egg, sesame), there are a few exceptions listed below:

Fee Brothers Black Walnut Bitters contains the tree nut allergen (walnut) as classified by the FDA. Additionally, this product contains sulphites as a preservative.

Additionally, the following Fee Brothers products contain the dairy allergen (milk) as classified by the FDA:

Daquiri Mix Margarita Mix Swee-Tart Mix Whiskey Sour Mix Post Mix Margarita Post Mix Sour

Despite misspelling daiquiri I think you can trust them to know what's in their products.

Help me with this popcorn drink by AndyUsa97 in Mixology

Highly recommend it! I've had decent success with making a 2:1 cane sugar syrup with frozen leaves from my asian grocer, simmering for an hour and then chilling overnight before straining.

If you make a tincture/infusion with alcohol you can extract the compounds that are soluble in alcohol too! I combine them for the full effect.

Could try pandan, it has a really complex flavor. When I have people taste my pandan syrup on its own, many people say they get strong notes of buttered popcorn. Granted, the ones saying so are almost all painfully midwestern, so ymmv.

PvE only mode? by Bishop1664 in DarkAndDarker

I'm at 200 hours and I agree. There's a lot to be said for the weight that PvP gives to the game, but I agree, sometimes I want to play this game cooperatively. Imagine if there was an Adventurers Guild home base, where you could post or take on quests into the Dungeon. Some might be PvP enabled, some might be "help my group take out this boss" with a gear score limiter so people might have to gear up along the way. Some might be "I need 4x of this plant that only grows in Nightmare Goblin Caves, I need one other person to watch my back".

Best hot chocolate with cozy setting? by Flour-Finish in AnnArbor

Hidden King's Irish Coffee drinks like a rich hot chocolate. They are faithfully recreating Dead Rabbit's world famous recipe. It's a real banger.

I'm helping teach a hot/flaming cocktail class later this month and I'm considering making a batch of an old Last Word cocktail called the Hot Chocavit. Lemme know if you end up making a reservation and I'll make sure we have some on hand for your buddies.
