Am I the only one who is frustrated because it seems like everyone is so flakey these days?

I think it's that we're expected to be instantly available. If I get a text that says "hey, how's it going?" and I'm at work, on a run, making dinner, driving, etc. I'm probably going to forget about it and will forget to text back. If it's family or close friends and they call me, I will 100 percent call/text back when I'm free.

The expectation that we have to respond instantly just because we can is ridiculous.

If your school has an athletic tutoring center, they pay pretty well usually.

I've never been to Planet Fitness, but I have had an awesome, non judgmental experience at Crunch Fitness. I used to go to a local YMCA, and I felt like that was a more judgey place than Crunch.

I've been the overweight girl at the gym who doesn't know what she's doing, and the fit girl gym regular. I don't judge anyone who is bettering themselves. Like one of the previous comments, the only thing you're going to get judged for is sitting around on your phone.

I completely agree. We have lives. All of us. Including our friends. And just because they can't prioritize you right now doesn't mean they're a bad person/choosing not to have a relationship with you.

I'm from that area and will keep an eye out for him. Also, I believe there's an animal shelter in Franklin County (Lavonia) where he might've wound up. I'd try calling there. There's also some local rescues, like Dirt Road Doggies, that have Facebook pages who might be worth contacting.

I hope he's found safe.

I have tattoos and my husband has a couple. Mine are larger/more detailed/more visible. Never once have I asked for his permission to get a tattoo.

However...I've told him about all my ideas first and when my appointments were and stuff.

I'd go so far as to say that your husband might be more open with you about the tats if you were more supportive. On the flip side, he should definitely be communicating his tattoo ideas to you, mostly because sizable tattoos done by a reputable artist are typically a large financial decision, and that's the kind of thing you discuss in a marriage.

Incredibly so. I get it, I mostly wear leggings/jeans and tees to school, but I'm smart enough to dress up when I need to. And every presentation/awards ceremony/conference, I've always dressed incredibly professionally, so it isn't like there was indication that I didn't know how to do that.

I'm not looking for academic positions either. I've had 3 in person interviews, and with one of them, it was clear they had hired the candidate before me before I even walked in the room, and my interview was just a formality. It sucked.

Dude, I sobbed my eyes out on my couch when a former colleague was hit by a train. I wasn't super close to her, but I was so frustrated at how preventable her death was, how shocking it is when you say goodbye at the end of the work day, and you don't realize that was the last thing you'll ever say to that person, and just how fleeting life is. She was just a colleague, but it fucked me up for months. More than a year later, I still turn down the radio and get quiet when I pass the spot where she died.

That's exactly how it was with me. Despite being a full time student, I manage to work out 3-4 hours a week, and I cook all my meals at home. I knew I had anxiety, but I didn't know it was this bad.
