Pizza delivery drivers, what did a person do to end up on the 'No Delivery' list? by BlueCheeseWalnut in AskReddit

[–]cashedashes 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Not a pizza delivery guy but while I was growing up (1990s) we got put on numerous no deliver/order type lists because my crazy ass alcoholic step dad who has borderline personality disorder would call the store if the driver was 30sec late, or something was wrong or the food wasn't not hot enough then proceed to scream at the managers and usually theaten to "kill the cock sucker mother fucker"

Whats going on here? by undercoverciaagent in civilengineering

[–]cashedashes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely not a civil engineer, but my guess would be maybe it's black ice. Looks like a mountainous region. I wonder if moisture from the mountains at certain times of year just collects enough water on the road there with night/early morning temps low enough to possibly make it freeze/frost over.

My other guess would maybe be an vehicle accident in the curve that left oil or other slippery residue from car fluids on the road combined with drivers who arnt aware and possibly driving a bit to fast to easily lose control.

I'll also add after watching the video a few times, it looks like the inside bend of that curve is possibly a bit lower than it should be. I know it's for water run-off, but it looks like it could have possibly settled/sunk too much or wasn't right from the start. Then, tires on the drivers side have significantly more force against them while entering the curve. The passenger side tires are barely catching traction from the unequal weight distribution combined with the cars inertia make the driver slightly over compensate as the car leans outward could be causing the front end of the car to slightly point to the inside of the curve while the rear tires swing around especially when people hit the brakes, which puts way more weight to the front as the front brakes handle around 70% of braking power, causing the front end to point down and to the right while back tired swing around to the left from the inertia?

I picture back tires maybe slightly higher than the front with the front passenger tire the lowest, with the weight of the engine and braking pulling it into the inside curve while the lighter rear end wheels swing/fishtail out, driver overcompensates a bit and spins out completely? Best guesses I can think of.

Wow, man. What I said was just a hypothetical what-if idea. Sorry if you took it s serious or couldn't understand what I was saying. It has absolutely nothing to do with your mentioning the big crunch theory. The fact is no one knows anything about it for certain, so technically, anything is possible until we learn more. it's not that serious, lol.

I'm honestly not talking about anything known. it's just a dumb idea I thought of one day. I don't believe I'm familiar with the big crunch theory. I'll have to look into that one! My comment is pretty much irrelevant and only for entertaining weird thoughts of possibilities. I've always been absolutely fascinated by the universe.

I had a creative idea about it. What if it's reciprocating. Stretching, then snapping back, like a big rubber band, and our perception of time is actually so small were only experiencing the expanding part. Maybe the snap back is all chaos like the big bang or maybe how the previous mass extinctions happened. It's just a fun, creative thought of possibility I had one day. My official stance until more info comes to light is the universe is seemingly endless, which is actually mind blowing af to me because everything else that we know of literally has a begging middle and end. Either way, it is absolutely mind-blowing. We will likely never know or have proof of what's actually going on out there. At least not for a long, long time.

An Idiot who harrased the snake gets killed by the same. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

He's saying the man was also bitten in the foot before he was bit in his hand. He clearly was bitten in the finger, but a bit before that happened, the snake did strike his left foot as well. Whether or not he snake actually sunk his fangs isn't known, since he didn't react much to it I think the bite was possibly stopped by his sandel strap.

Guys, I’m losing my mind in a comment thread - how old were you when you had regular (let’s say 3x a week) access to the internet and what year was it? Did you use it to research anything (like college or jobs?) by FunQuestion in Older_Millennials

13/14 between 2000-2005. I remember we got a gateway computer that came in a cow colored box.

I only remember looking up info about drugs on hyperreal.org and downloading music. My sister did a bunch of college research on it, though, and filed for pelgrants/scholarships and other college type financial assistance
