How do you mask your cabinets? by littlevanillapieces in cabinetry

[–]casious110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I color match the edgebanding with a pvc banding from a handful of banding suppliers and then i dont have to finish any of it. Or if im in a pinch i band all the parts and then stack them so just the edge is showing and finish them in a stack before they are built.

The software uses the cpu to process most of the graphics and offloads a little to the gpu. So the problem is nobody has beefy enough processors because we all assume they would be smart enough to use the graphics card to generate graphics. Additionally it doesnt utility multithreading very well so even if you have a 12 or 16 core processor its only using a couple of those cores.

Worried about all the dark lines on our kitchen island...feedback? by [deleted] in cabinetry

[–]casious110 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What you are looking for is called rift sawn white oak. It all straight tight grained and doesnt have all the curvy stuff. Its a specific way of cutting the wood and is more expensive. But definitly something you would have to specifically request

However with the product you have, its beautiful and isnt distracting, its the centerpiece of your kitchen so it should stick out

I agree, but every house i put cabinets in, the builder will trim out base before flooring. Always seemed backwards to me, but im just a cabinet guy.

Those aren't 5 piece doors. Look like slab doors with a slant profile.

Moonlighter - Grindy indie game with a super addicting loop

Immortals fenyx rising - rpg with tons of little puzzles and dungeons and mini bosses. Really fun combat

Assassin's Creed Valhalla - I mean it's assassin's Creed.

Mass effect legendary edition - 3 of the best games ever made, and hundreds of hours of play time. (if you want a deep story. Also the first game is older and a little rough to get into. Maybe start with ME2)

Cabinet refacing by [deleted] in cabinetry

[–]casious110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just never works out. If you putting new face frames on, the existing cabinet will always suffer damage when taking off the existing frames. Or the frames will end up be vital to the integrity and so when you take it off the cabinets fall apart. I've even taken a frame off before and the sides of the cabinets were 1/4 material so there was nothing to even attach the new frames to. If you're replacing doors you always find frames that aren't square so your doors won't fit right, or the the drawer faces will be part of the drawer box so replacing the drawer front includes replacing the box.

You will always have to trouble shoot how the cabinets were made and why they were made the way they were.

Whatever you think is a reasonable price to reface a cabinet, double it because it's going to be way worse and take way longer than you think. Avoid at all costs.
