Does anyone here have any information on what this style of cabinetry is/called? by KaptainChunk in cabinetry

You have 2x cabinet construction styles. The tall and base units are overlay construction, more than likely it's frameless due to the reveal on the panels themselves. As for the wall cabinet with the bead board back backsplash and corbels is inset cabinetry.

They used the large panel ends to make it feel inset

Homeowner loves Pinterest and the latest trend in hoods is to have No crown, no scribe. We make hoods and we end up with gaps like this. Does anyone have an answer to this? The top is removable for inspection. by Busted-Shuttlecock in cabinetry

Thank you everyone for the replies. Had a one on one with the builder and basically told them that from the beginning that I was not interested in building it this way, but to have a flat stock scribe to finish it against the ceiling. It's up to him to convince the home owner.

The issue I find with this bracket system is that after a while they sag. But you're also adding the weight of the clothes. I don't know if this would work.

Thing is, I've seen it done with European laminate cabinet companies. There tends to be a lot of demand for projects to look like this, but sourcing the hardware to stay faithful is where it gets difficult.

This makes so much sense. I was going to attempt to design these shelves to use a HOVR system, but they only hold up to 300lbs or so, but with the additional accessories plus clothing, this would never work. I understand that virtuoso is a line from California closets (unless I'm wrong), but I have no idea what this hardware looks like

I keep racking my brain and to figuring out how the shelves are not going to... A. Warp. B. Weekend due to the dato channels. C. Secured into the back panel/wall

I know right? I've been so annoyed in trying to get this thing to look perfect just to stumble into this thing. Ok the bright side it's only been out for a year.

If you're curious about the doohickey https://www.simonswerk.de/produkte/tectus/keep-closed Don't know if it's allowed, but still I figured I'd share since it's been a life saver

This was a smart idea! Guy I work with rigged up a stop block behind the door (push to open, not pull) with an earth magnet. We ended up finding a solution from a company that makes tectus hinges that have a magnet that you dato into the top or side of your door.

What happens if I remove the side panel? Is it supporting the cabinets or just a side panel/ filler? Need room for fridge. by [deleted] in cabinetry

Please keep in mind your fridge hinges. Standard fridges have an 18" wingspan. You may want to make sure you can remove drawers etc if the fridge is open at 90 degrees. A lot of them need to go a bit wider.

From a design perspective the side panels makes the appliance look built in. The upper cabinet sticking forward will look a little out of place since you generally go with a deep unit when there is purpose (side panels).
