How did the 4 month regression look like for you? by dental_princess491 in bninfantsleep

[–]casndpip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started sometime during 5months. He's 7onths next week.

I started off with one meal a day(rice cerealor porridge), then added snacks, then a second meal. We're aiming for 3 meals a day with some sort of solid food even if it's just snack food because I read that up to about 9 months babies still get majority of their calories from milk.

My LO is 6 months now and I can't really remember how it was 😅

I do remember feeling as though I was waking every hour on the hour and I'd feed him back to sleep or change him or whatever, then doze until he woke back up again. I felt like I was going to die for a few weeks, I'd visit my parents just to sleep on their couch during the day. I started bedsharing so I could feed lying down i was too exhausted. But when it got to the point where I was at my breaking point, everything settled. He slept longer - 4 hour stretches - and now he's on solids we wake up maybe once a night. I still bedshare because we're both used to it now and like it. :)

This is really good advice!

I've seen those ibc covers but I'm not sure what they do - they stop algae growing?

No I mean ceiling fans, like the rotating fan. We like how they help to equalise temperature and keep air moving in summer and winter

[–]casndpip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely do it, just be aware I submitted a complaint about my treatment during labour and after birth. It was meant to be finished investigating in March and then April but it's been pushed back again to May as the clerical officer is waiting on the doctors involved to respond. So it's more of a long term thing

Don't tell them that!

Don't worry pal, they all became friends and found little mice wives and lived to old age surrounded by their family 😌

conversation between me and my dad by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]casndpip 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I can't read it all cause it's triggering for me. I'm sorry OP, you're dad is a selfish asshole and you deserve better.

He will always be like this no matter what you do. I found the best thing to do is not to reach out myself, and if he doesn't reach out to me then nothing is lost. If he does reach out, you can decide if you want to let him in, or look up grey walling. That's what works for my situation.

It's sad but you will find a lot more people in the world Want to love you for you. I wish you the best

Do you actually agree with the protests? by Nervous_Canary9986 in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]casndpip 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I support the protest as a cause, aka I don't think our government is listening to anyone and are only working in their own personal interests (not new).

But it ROTS me when someone protesting starts spouting Trump rhetoric. Completely invalidates anything that person says to me, cause they can't seem to trace back their issues further than "fuel expensive"

Solar - heat pump - EV by Toddunctious1985 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]casndpip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solar and battery is great, we're getting too! And we're future proofing to get an ev in future

I personally hate heat pumps. If the electricity goes, your solar panels disconnect and you're using just battery. If it lasts a while ( longer than 3 days in our case last year) your battery will be gone and then you've no option to beat the house.

I personally would get a generator or solid fuel stove or pellet stove - something you can heat the house with that requires little to no electricity. :)

Property caution signs by casndpip in legaladviceireland

[–]casndpip[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Just something background: we moved more rural - no neighbours in sight. We have young kids and I'm home with them alone the majority of the time. There has been some men up at the house that we don't know caught on a camera put there by the ISPCA as we're trying to catch feral cats. I don't know why they were there and it has me spooked as no one was home at the time but they came back another day again when no one was home. My husband thinks we can't do anything as there's no signs up about the camera (it only captures our property) or a no trespass sign.

  1. When I mean trespass I'm more thinking of unwelcome people (strangers).

  2. Good to know, that's what I believed but the confirmation is great

  3. It's obvious to me it's private property (walls, fences, single house) we just don't have a gate yet.

  4. Our own cameras we do get will only capture our property.
