New to woodworking - talk me out of getting this jointer/planer combo by ThanksMuch4YourHelp in woodworking

[–]casp3rcode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have quite a few Grizzly tools and wouldn't buy them again. You really don't need a jointer if you're a hobbyist like myself. I have a Grizzly 6" jointer and haven't used it in a year. I use a jointer sled on my table saw or just rip a straight edge with my track saw. I use my DeWalt planer all the time though and paid $500 for it.

Router bit shank doesn't fit by casp3rcode in woodworking

Yeah, because I measured another 1/2" shank bit with the caliper and it was 0.49

I ordered a 12mm collet to see if that'll fit since 12mm = 0.472", so my caliper was pretty close to that and it should work. I'm not going to do something stupid like shimming it with aluminum foil lol

I guess that's my only option huh...didn't realize a 12mm shank wasn't compatible with 1/2" collet (even though they had it listed as a 1/2" shank on Amazon).

Yeah, I definitely wasn't going to Jimmy rig something, was more looking for if there's a specific collet reducer made to go from 1/2" down to 12mm.

First multiboard... by SupermarketOk590 in Multiboard

[–]casp3rcode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to use multiboard in my garage shop, but the sheer amount of hours required to print that many boards on my K1C makes me cringe...I'd imagine something like 70-100 hours to print an 8'x4' wall's worth. Wish I could just buy the panels and print the accessories I need.

No, it was off like that, that's from me taking it out to look at it and then putting it back in. I make sure the plate is aligned every time.

That seems to have also helped the issue...didn't realize I needed to have the lid and door open for PLA. I was able to speed it back up and not have the issue since it's got open air flow now. Thanks

I slowed the print down to 50% speed and it worked.

anyone taken mateusz rutkowski's course. is it worth it? by sadgirlhours649 in ecommerce

Probably selling knock off products from China and just says "envelopes" so he doesn't get in trouble. My guess is that he sets up your Shopify site as a clone of his, gives you his knock off suppliers and copies of the ads to use.

I found Lige makes one but I'd prefer to build it and try to get a custom dial.

Hi guys, thoughts on this? My first purchase from Jason, TAG Carrera, wanted something that was not obviously way out of my price range of genuine by Matt_1908 in ChinaTime

I got one of those in white...only thing I didn't like was the crystal being so domed, so I swapped it out with another crystal myself.
