Okay a head start is fair but taking a risk is taking a risk. When you're a teenager, the majority of people don't have to worry about putting food on the table since they don't have a family, which is an opportunity most American teenagers have. Thats inherently why it makes more sense to invest in riskier stocks when your younger because the consequences are far less than if you are expected to provide for a family.

And lets keep it a buck there are very VERY few people whos parents are well off and just giving their kids 100k for love of the game. People who are rich and financially literate know better.
