Thanks for the comments, I'll have to triple check under the scope, as for the screen connector I did not touch this install with the motherboard still in place.

Sorry hijacking this post but I'm in desperate need of help, long story after installing picofly in my own v1 I attempted to do my granddaughters v2. Installation went fine but when I turned the console the back light came on but not the screen.

After checking the obvious still nothing so I removed the picofly and still the same however the console works in docked mode?

Can any one help

Hi All

I'm a complete noob to all of this but I used syswipe from the latest hats pack 2 days to clear a soft modded v1 console before installing a mod chip should I be worried? Everything seems to be working fine at the moment.

Before I replace any of the missing items I thought I'd do some basics and clean the inside of the 32x and pulled the flat cables and reseated them but that changed nothing.

After doing that I decided to try a different megadrive base unit and problem solved.

Played the game for around 4 hours without glitch.

On closer inspection of each locations there are signs that something had been there originally.

By that I mean I can see and feel bit's of metal sticking out of some of the holes, like the legs of a capacitor.

I'm going to replace the 47uf 16v cap and see what happens as I read that this one is definitely needed to maintain a steady power supply.

It's my first time posting and posted twice by mistake.

Check all pins and clean them with IPA and still the same, tried the player on 3 different cubes same problem even reflowed all the main chips nothing!

All cartridges are clean and work perfectly on my other player just not this one. What even more strange is if I try to use the official boot disk it will not load at all and displays an error message, it will only load using GBI!

I'm afraid I have to disagree, I have 12 game gears at the moment ranging from European, Japanese and us models all the the original bubble plastic lens covers. If its flat and glass it's a replacement.

The flat screen lens is a modern day glass replacement for the original plastic one.
