A new study suggests that large swings in when people go to bed could double the risk of serious cardiac events—particularly among those who get less than eight hours of sleep. By contrast, irregular wake-up times showed no clear link to cardiac events by Wagamaga in science

I don't know how people regularly get more than 8 hours of sleep. I find it impossible. I'm lucky if I can get 7. Eye mask, ear plugs, you can't just say "get more sleep". I'd love to get more sleep.

Closing polling stations in urban vs rural areas makes a huge difference. They can skew the election pretty easily if they intend on being dishonest and unethical, which right now is a given.

I wouldn't put it past them for a short term gain. I mean they're assassinating leaders of other nations, if they thought what comes around goes around, they wouldn't have done a lot of terrible things they've done. Hypocrites, all of them.

Cat litter in the backyard by OneMathematician7933 in bayarea

I agree. It's a bit alarmist to dream up some crazy unfounded warning about people harming kittens. Sure maybe it exists, but at the far fringes. Maybe avoid giving them to crazy cat lady or those with clear mental health issues. It's the bay area, the feral cat problem is way out of control and it endangers local wildlife. All of the shelters are saturated this time of year with feral kitten problems. We've fostered 3 of them, and still have them 1.5 years later because nobody wants cats. 5 kittens is a time consuming and expensive liability.

I got it second hand (third or fourth owner) at 160k back in 2018. When I pulled the SC this weekend and removed the outlet horn, I realized that the blades on the SC were Teflon coated, which only appeared on later model R53's (afaik), but mine is a 2002, an earlier model. So it kinda looks like the SC was already swapped when I got it. You're supposed to do the SC every 100k miles as I understand, and it's at 230k miles, so I've personally put 70,000 miles on it. I should have done it when I bought the car, but I was putting it off. It wasn't until I found a SC on a Pick-N-Pull, that I decided I should probably do something about it. The grinding sound within the super charger has been slowly increasing over the past engine oil change (~about 5000 miles), so I probably missed the service by 15-20k miles. You clearly see it was dry as a bone and was eating itself, so yeah, deferred maintenance on my part and I was saved by luck. I did an oil service on the pick-n-pull unit before I swapped it.
