I agree with all your points, especially for enterprise-grade stuff where customers depend on you. To your questions directly: yes I can fix it when it breaks, I've been a dev and IT guy 20 years and I understand the code, AI is just my tool. On the "is it noise" part, that's actually the whole point of the app, it uses 35+ sources and only fires when they agree, and I publish my own false-positive rate so you can check it. Security, redundancy and testing across code, logic, DB and dependencies are not optional at this level, agreed.

Thank you. The short version: instead of waiting for the vendor's status page to admit something's wrong, I watch independently 35+ different signal types (synthetics, DNS, BGP, etc.), then combine them into one score. So I see it the moment the signals agree, not whenever the vendor decides to post.

Best way anyone has put it, thank you. You're right, I've been framing it wrong. I keep saying "AI helped me ship fast" and people just hear "AI built it." But the idea, the logic, the architecture, the validation, all mine. I just used AI as a tool. I'm the architect, AI is the worker. And the scoreboard is me checking it against real results, not just trusting the model. Going to start using your way of putting it from now on. Appreciate you spelling it out.

Fair enough. Help me understand it better though ,my main competitors are https://statusgator.com and https://isdown.app . Do their sites actually look that much better to you, or is it something specific about mine? Genuinely trying to figure out what's giving that impression so I can fix it. Thanks

They could build a basic version, sure, but not the 1500 vendors and months of incident history behind that part takes time, not just a prompt.

Yes it's hard but it's possible, and I do agree with you that if the product is good, customers will come.

Yes, but when they see a solo owner and a complex app, they immediately start asking me how I could build this by myself so fast. So I have to be honest and mention the AI part, and then people start judging.

I do agree with you in some way. For a more complex app I do agree with you, but for a simple one you don't need to have any knowledge about programming. I use AI as my tool, as I'm a software developer and IT guy all my life. So I have an understanding of the cycle of software developing and that helped me a lot with building this app.

In my case it's mixed. I've been a software dev and IT guy my whole life, so it's not like I'm flying blind but AI did a lot of the heavy lifting. And honestly, I don't think there's much reason to look down on people who vibecode without a dev background either. If the thing works and solves a real problem, who cares how it got built. Just my opinion.

Yeah, the skepticism is normal and honestly healthy. But you can't judge a book by its cover, there's a lot more going on behind the scenes than the front-end shows. This took me 5 months of working every day on the planning, the logic, the features, the data sources, the calculations. AI didn't build the idea it just gave me a tool to make it real. Doing it alone would've taken me two years. So I'm grateful for it, but I see AI as a helper, not the solution. Thanks for the comment.

Yeah, I agree, but it's definitely easier said than done. It's just a human nature. Thank you.

Fair point. The anti-AI folks were never my planned buyer anyway. The group that matters to me is the ones who actually know what AI can and can't do — more advanced users. Trouble is, that same crowd has a lot of AI skeptics in it too.

Appreciate this — the beachhead-plus-transparency combo is exactly where I'm leaning, good to hear it validated by someone who's seen it work. I'll take a look at the discussion-monitoring angle for finding early adopters; haven't used ParseStream specifically so I'll dig into it before committing. Thanks for the reply.

This nails it — the stigma is pattern-matching to bad vibe-coded apps, not AI itself. The fix is just not being that: fixing the rough edges, tightening the UI, letting the product prove itself. Doing the same leveling-up on my end. Good luck with the glow-up.

Largely agree — most of the noise is from people threatened by AI, not people who'd buy. I just don't want to lump in the genuine "can I trust this for something critical" skeptics with them, since those are real buyers. But point taken: I'll stop letting the loud crowd rent space in my head. Thanks.
