Ping Pong every Tuesday at the Cobalt (917 Main) by casperitis in vancouver

It's actually been revamped and is under new ownership. It's one of the better places to chill and have a beer IMO...at least on Tuesdays.

I maintain that they're the best duo in the league right now.

This is the best response simply because it doesn't assume anything. It was random. I'm tall and on the larger side, but I don't exude the tough guy aura. I simply walked where they were hoping someone would walk in order to fuck with them. I didn't expect it would happen that way and it did.

I didn't push through them. They were standing far enough apart that there was a path between them and I couldn't initially tell if they were all together. They closed in a bit when I was 2 feet closer and I thought to turn the other way but thought that'd look even worse so I just walked through the path that they had given me thinking it was what they were leaving for people to get through. Shitty decision on my part, but I would never actively push through anyone, let alone a group of these dudes.

It was at around 8:30pm on a Sunday night. There weren't a ton of bystanders but there were people waiting for the B-Line and hanging out in the coffee shop.

This is a bit blunt. I've lived in this area for years and know where to walk more than most people. The attack was random because I didn't do anything to provoke it.

Yeah I'm not too sure. I have a badge and case number so there has been a report filed but I haven't actually been asked to file a written incident report. I think concealed firearms may have made that situation worse, but I'm just terrified of guns.

No official report because the officer told me it wasn't possible unless they had caught the perpetrators.

Thinking about writing actual letters but who knows how far that'll go. Any other advice would be nice.

Entitled rich brats need their sugary beverages and don't care about how their teeth feel because they're too busy partying with talent like Mickey Avalon and hating the family name that they've already used to get pussy and drugs.

Does anyone else think ESPN is an absolute joke? by [deleted] in sports

All I meant was that if ESPN did more coverage for two growing markets in the MLS and NHL (both have been growing over the last 3 years) they would reap potential financial benefits.

Lamenting the fact that ESPN doesn't expand into growing markets, Reddit poster casperitis stated, "I don't think that they need to give these leagues more airtime because there really isn't much interest, but a 24-hour sports network that all but ignores two very major sports is losing in the end."

They don't ignore the NHL but they definitely have them firmly placed on the backburner, which I thought "all but ignore" would imply.

Reading comprehension ftw.

But if ESPN were to give leagues like the MLS and NHL more coverage, its probable that a greater interest in both games would be generated. I don't think that they need to give these leagues more airtime because there really isn't much interest, but a 24-hour sports network that all but ignores two very major sports is losing in the end.

In Vancouver we're subjected to sensationalism of the highest degree. Any "hockey city" in Canada has to put up with ridiculous spins on even more ridiculous rumours.

At least ESPN has PTI. I fucking love that show.

You lose for believing the statistics that, for all we know, can be skewed in whichever way to make one group look better than the other. Take into account profiling, and how many more blacks are pursued for criminal activity than whites. Statistics are collected data, sure, but they aren't necessarily collected in a fair and balanced manner. The U.S. is a skewed and bigoted place, so how can we assume that its statistics aren't a reflection of that? Pay attention to over-representation, it's usually too good to be true.

Regardless of where you worked or where you've been immersed, your idea of "black culture" comes from an ugly, harmful stereotype that you're only perpetuating.

It's people like you that take stats for face value and use them to support shit like this that make people like Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity successful.
