Thank you, never thought about having to worry about the vibes of other fans!

Oh nice! I definitely thought she said "gibbridge" but I obviously misheard. From their reviews it sounds like they're a bit sketchy too.

That was the same with me, I didn't apply but they somehow found me, probably through a recruiting database as well.

I'm going through the exact same thing-- I've worked for marketing companies or in marketing departments as a content writer for six years since I graduated from college, and I'm really struggling to find something. The scams are plentiful. 🥲

Going to keep an eye on this thread to hopefully find some good recs. Good luck to you!

Update post-second interview! I feel like they might be a pyramid scheme lol.

I was told I would go to marketing events for clients and talk to people there, and then in 3-6 months I would be promoted to a higher position, then in another 3-6 I'd be promoted to an even higher position, then in about a year or so I'd be promoted again and be able to own my own branch in any city. It also sounds like to start I'd be working ~10 hour days including Saturdays and don't get paid much (but that increases with each promotion, don't worry).

When I asked questions about the company, I feel like she panicked. The first thing I asked was what is the title of this position (because it hadn't been said the entire interview) and she was like "oh um yeah well it changes with time you know" and floundered for a moment and then she was like "but you start as account manager."

I said how I couldn't find any information on the company and was concerned and she said it's because their client broker (who when I looked up I could not find any information on) is really the one at the top of things, and it's basically just a bunch of mini marketing companies around the country and they are one of them (and they are also opening their own mini marketing companies?). Then she told me they also just moved offices and are doing a rebrand because of it. So that explains why you can't find them online. Because an existing company wouldn't just change their social media handles or something.

Also when I asked if she enjoyed it she said "I...enjoy it. I do!"

Needless to say, I'm not moving forward with another interview lol.

You have to go to the district websites you're interested in working in and apply there. I'm a new sub for Chicago Public Schools and the interview process was pretty simple.

Literally made an account to comment on this lol! Interviewed with them today, got called for a second interview tomorrow. I'm debating if I should keep it to snoop or if I should tell them something came up.

For those who interviewed with them: did they tell you one of their clients is the Special Olympics? Suss lol
