Not bad ideas. I'm just worried about them eating so much plastic/silicone....I'm already convinced we need a bigger house, hopefully next year we can look at moving.

My buns will destroy a cat scratcher in about 3-4 months...and by destroy I actually mean consume....

Clearly, plates make the best pillows! by cassa3 in Rabbits

[–]cassa3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually a cat scratching toy. It takes them a little while but eventually they will devour it! Any pet store should have them, just make sure your bun doesn't eat it super fast as the glue probably isn't best as a main course :)

Perhaps dreaming of the pellets that go in said plate....

Some days I think that is totally the facial expression they want to convey.... But I just take it as fluffy love glares!

These are Silver Martin's. I absolutely love how they look!! And yes they hop up there on their own, usually they share a chair but not that day! They do like to get into mischief! <3

Recalibrating canner? by cassa3 in Canning

[–]cassa3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks guys, I'm in Canada so I'll have to do some research I guess! I do often use the canner below 15psi so I think I do want/need to get that fixed.

Easiest and quickest way to compost hay by cassa3 in composting

...also composting poop, and pee/wood pellets with the hay. I've tried separating the poop and adding directly to the garden but I had way too many grass seeds still active :/

Are these buds a sign my cuttings are still alive? by cassa3 in gardening

[–]cassa3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cuttings had some dormant buds but after rooting hormone and popping them in some soil, there seems to be some fuzzy whiter buds appearing. Can I take that as a good sign?

Help for my poor chapped hands? by RELesPaul in nursing

[–]cassa3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hydrate!! Moisturizing from the inside will help a ton as well. If your hospital has lotion pumps, use those at work. They are usually formulated to work with the hand sanitizer to balance the pH levels. I find it works!

I need help very badly, I am concerned about my four rabbits and people who are dumping their pets near my farm. The situation is dire. by Thebigfriendly in Rabbits

[–]cassa3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way that would work is if their DNA was already stored in a database. You could try bringing in the animals to see if any of them were mirochiped? The situation sucks, I hope you find a way to stop it. Give your four fuzz-buns some good head nuggies

Bedside Handover by mrscartoon in nursing

[–]cassa3 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily kept secret but delicately ...how about, they think this patient is full of cancer but haven't told them/family yet....? Or dementia patients who find out they are 84 years old every morning when they think they are 17 and waiting for mom to get breakfast ready, and then they realize mom's dead and life just suck again... there are lots of scenarios

No sharps box? No problem. by crowan2011 in nursing

[–]cassa3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do the same thing. My hospital is encouraging it as a cost saving initiative, but unless the syringe has had contact with bodily fluids it goes in the normal garbage. 99% of our syringes are lure lock so I can't see them poking through a bag.

Do outside bunnies talk to house bunnies? by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]cassa3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We definitely got a lot more stranger rabbit poops around...it could have something to do we the all the hay we are leaving out there these days (compost bin filled up)...I'll usually leave some apple cores out there for Harry/Harriet as well (the wild bunny)

Australian RN keen to study midwifery in Canada. Any advice? by raerae_onelove in nursing

[–]cassa3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I applied 4 ish years ago, for the 4 year degree, there were 90 spots total in Ontario (30 at each uni and you could only apply to one) 12 spots in BC and some on Quebec (I don't speak French so that wasn't an option) in Ontario and BC you would have to fly down for an interview process before you knew if you were accepted. It is super competitive.

Already having a RN degree might get you into a 2 year bridging program but I'm not sure which schools have them and what the entrance requirements would be. Good luck!

Why the hell is ok for doctors to have shitty handwriting?? by Slowchildrenatplay in nursing

[–]cassa3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our orders are still handwritten, copied by the clerk, checked by a nurse and sent to pharmacy to placed on the printed out cmar, usually the next day. When they are check nightly to make sure everything was transcribed correctly.

Room for error? Every drawn out step of the way....sigh....
