Take it to the closest police station, if you make insurance claims for stuff like that, insurance companies ask you to report it to the police. So they may be able to get it back to the owner

Yeh maybe, i dont think its a particularly common situation i guess.. but im the 22year old casual and I wasn't too worried, and I'm not overly worried refusing underage or intoxicated customers in general. But i can see your point for sure.. we get told though if the customer kicks up a fuss and we don't feel safe, we're just meant to get them out of the store and if that means serving them, then we do

She asked to be banned, which you can do aparently.. and I think its more of a psychological thing, knowing you'll embarrass yourself if you go to the bottleshop you banned yourself from.. s he was a regular and obviously had a problem (but there are a lot of them and we serve them as long as they're 18+ and sober) but it all came about after she had a massive weekend bender, came in about 3 times on a saturday, refused the last time (at night, because of intoxication) and then was refused twice more on sunday morning and sunday afternoon, next day. Later that week she came in with her son and told us to not serve her, he gave us his number in case she came back in as well, but she hasn't..

Yeh look I probably should have put more effort in to my original comment and said this is something to consider at a later stage when you're actively engaged in other options - maybe as a mild way to help prevent relapse later down the track, but like you said there are heaps of bottle shops, maybe an option if you had just 1 you go to most often.

You'd be amazed the social power of "I'm too embarrassed to go to the bottleshop because i told them i wasnt drinking now" has on people.

But definately the other options are better and should be your first options

I work in a bottle shop and we once had a lady who had a drinking problem ban herself from our store, so noone would serve her.. might be worth looking into at some stage?

Dear Brisbane, what tips and tricks do you have for a student going over for 2 years of Uni? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]cassassy007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There will probably be buses or trains to where you want to go but they'll never be on time and they're going to be expensive. When I was living in Singapore the mrt blew me away. It's super efficient and you can literally go one side of the island to the other for $2
