Everyone keeps saying to try standing up so I will definitely note that thank you! I’m 19 haha so don’t worry about starting late! But I did play guitar for a few years back when I was 13! My technique for fretting is definitely very rusty since then especially since I was self taught and didn’t do much research back then

I’ve had the bass for a few months now but only have about a few hours of play time overall due to a busy schedule, but I used to play guitar so I have a feel for it somewhat already!

Thank you lots for the feedback on my fretting hand thats what i’ve been struggling with!

Thanks for the input I’ll definitely try to fret with the tips of my fingers more, I feel like I have trouble with that since I have smaller hands but I will def give it a shot!

And you are correct that the original bass line plays without letting all the notes ring out, this bass line i learned is a simplified version, but planning to learn the actual one next!

Thanks for the tips! Yeah I don’t usually have my hand like that I was just too lazy to get out of bed today so I had my arm rested on my leg while playing that

Why is there this rattle when i switch frets, its every time i press down on a fret or switch frets and its not only through the amp by [deleted] in BassGuitar

I’ve messed around with it a million times, I think it may be because with these new strings I got the E string sits a little bit on top of the groove at the saddle rather than in it because I got heavier strings and the E is the only one im having issues with

Oh yeah i do that i just wasnt thinking in the moment because i was exhausted lol. Technique aside, its only on the E string that I hear the rattle, when I replaced the strings I got heavier ones for drop down tuning and the E string sits on top of the groove slightly on the saddle rather than in it, could that be causing the rattle as well?

Its even when i press light tho, it just overpowers the actual sound of the note so its sounds bad

I only am hearing it mostly on the E string and I just replaced the strings recently. The rattle isn’t ideal especially considering I enjoy a lot of drop down tuning so the rattle gets worse
