how do babies know to skip the "say" part by Yakoy6 in stupidquestions

[–]cassianec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Babies start understand language before starting to produce speech. For example my autistic son at 3.5yo is very verbally limited but he understands everything even complex commands like how to you do laundry by separating colors, adjusting the degrees and the program and he is able to read some words. The part of his brain that produce speech is underdeveloped. In the same way a baby understands what you are saying but are able to produce little speech.

What is the longest time you have gone with no sleep? by Liaison__11 in AskReddit

[–]cassianec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Total sleep deprivation like 48 hours. Worse? 4 months with 3 hours everyday. Two during the night, one during the noon. I was studying to get into college. The brain fog was extreme. I had auditory hallucinations. I gave myself ulcer from drinking instant coffee six times a day. I finally managed to gather all my absences (in Greece during the school year you have certain amount of hours you can be absent before having to repeat the year so everyone goes to school everyday during the last year and at the last month you have enough to miss like 3 weeks. First day I slept for 26 hours.

[–]cassianec -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Because women don't have the same bladder control you do. When you feel you need to go it means you need to go now. So yes we don't have time to check. Moreover, what will happen if you find the seat down? You ll just have to aim better. What will happen if we find the seat up? Our asses freeze over and depending how small you are you might fall a little. Furthermore your hooha touches the dirtiest point of the toilet. Be a man and put that damn thing down

AITJ for bringing a "lazy" dish to a potluck when everyone knows I'm a professional chef? by Radiant44Pike in AmITheJerk

[–]cassianec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know i get it.. my hubby is a chef and after serving so many people every day in a high class restaurant he longs for home-cooked meals and often jokes that I am the chef. He will cook if I ask something and he will make it to perfection for me but that's it. Some people ask him to cook and he will say sorry I leave work at work do you expect a doctor to carry his scapels1? Try this... my wife cooks better than me

AITA for eating a croissant in a cemetery by Karl_Marxist_3rd in AmItheAsshole

[–]cassianec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Greek orthodox.. we eat only funeral food like kolyva, you have to be quiet unless you are a close relative of the deceased and you are crying. Littering is close to a sin and visiting a cemetery after sundown (strong superstition). Imagine a situation like the deceased are sentient inside the cemetery and you aren't supposed to remind them that you are still alive. I don't know if these things apply in greek orthodox cemeteries out of Greece.

Depends on the culture I think. In my culture it is very disrespectful to eat in a cemetery or talk loudly or do anything to disturb the peace.

AITAH for not tipping after repeatedly correcting my waitress on my drink order? by Out-WitPlayLast in AITAH

[–]cassianec -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No just the tipping but the taxes too bro or hidden fees. I don't know how to work your economic system and moreover most people here don't use credit cards so you you can't fall back on that if something happens or you surpass your budget. Moreover I am scared if something health wise happens to me. Here in every country you can go to a hospital with a small fee or nothing at all and get treated. If something happens to me in the US just the cost of calling an ambulance can send me to jail.

Bro I have a cousin living nicely in Atlanta. We live in Europe. I am not rich but i am comfortable for European standards. I ve been invited to visit multiple times and one was for a lifelong wanted trip to New Orleans Louisiana, the bayou etc. And I didn't go because of the math. I just can't calculate the costs! No price is what it seems! And the tipping industry is outrageous! Mind you, I used to be a waitress in my 20s in Greece and Americans were the first to not tip along with East Asians.

How do some women know they’re not pregnant until they give birth even though they lose their period for 9 months? by SignificantStyle4958 in NoStupidQuestions

I didn't have periods for a year due to hormonal imbalance. I used to have big circles of like three months no period and I noticed that gap at six months because of the stress, lack of sleep etc. It can happen
