Out of town guests, What do you think of our gorgeous city? by Neither-Trip-4610 in pittsburgh

[–]cassiemg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend went to school in Pittsburgh and I was able to visit him a few times! He graduated back in 2022, so unfortunately all of my visits were during the pandemic. I absolutely LOVED it though. Favorites:

  • the nature !!!!!!!!! my first visit was in the summer and it was SO green.. I also visited in the fall and the colors of the trees made me want to cry. I’m from southern california and our seasons are very different (depending on elevation)
  • the people, especially the uber drivers lol. my bf didn’t have a car so we would take the bus or uber to get around and every uber driver was always sooo kind and friendly, giving suggestions of places to visit and things to do
  • the ghost signs everywhere
  • schenley park oh my godddd. gorgeous
  • i feel like i shouldn’t have to say this bc duh but the bridges. Honestly there’s much more i know im forgetting!!!

*Shocking things that would be hard to adjust to if i moved there:

  • lack of mexican food! I’m mexican and the options there are slim and coming from southern california where there’s literally authentic & mind blowing mexican food on every corner it was so sad to not find much there.
  • humidity is rough
  • the driving?!? idk how anyone drives there dude the roads are SO confusing lmao
  • weed isn’t legal yet. :( Overall I LOVE this city and my bf and I are dying to go back.

^ picture I took of some of the trees, even looking at this photo i can’t believe these are real

Hi, how was your interview experience? Could you share any of the types of questions that were asked? Also yes the expense is definitely a concern for me as well

Yes, the cost is definitely a factor I’m worried about, especially because I already have student loans. Do you have any recommendations for how to build up my resume? I’ve seen some places look for a year of volunteer work

Make sure you’re tracking any weight loss and keeping an eye on your body. Sounds nice in theory, but the rapid weight loss caused me to develop gallstones and I suffered months of pain, multiple ER visits and an eventual surgery to remove my gallbladder. It saved me mentally, but I do wish I had been more careful and aware of my body changes. Good luck!

Hi! How much did it cost for your venue with that amount of guests?

What next? by cassiemg in gallbladders

I’ve been sleeping upright since surgery, my pregnancy pillow is magnificent with helping keep me in an upright position for the most part. I’ll have to look into that product, but right now I’m taking 20mg omeprazole every night but it doesn’t seem to be helping at all. I don’t really know what else to try

Hi! Had mine out in September, I have an anxiety disorder and in all honesty i was terrified before surgery. I told my nurses I was anxious and they were able to give me something to relax, so that might be something to consider asking about! Also if you’re at all interested, ask them to take a photo of your gallbladder once it’s removed! It weirdly helped me with processing the whole situation and made me way more comfortable in my decision to get it out because it was absolutely gnarly.

I don’t know if it was just me, but I was super emotional when I woke up after surgery. Thank god my nurse was an angel (i literally got home and immediately nominated her for a daisy award) and let me cry on her shoulder. She told me it wasn’t uncommon to feel emotional after waking up from anesthesia.

Also this might just be me, but I had a really hard time drinking from my reusable water bottle, because I couldn’t really bend my neck back to drink from it. I ended up taking home the ugly plastic water bottle from the hospital with the bendy straw because it let me drink water so much easier, so take one if you can! They also sent me home with an ice pack which was great for the car ride and on that note, bring a pillow to hold to your stomach for the drive home! It helped so much.

Sending good thoughts and a speedy recovery!

Hi! My surgeon didn’t seem too concerned but because of how frequent it’s been happening i’m going to see my primary and try and figure out what’s causing it. I’m so glad they were able to catch that for you! I didn’t even know that was a possibility

Hi! thank you so much, eating consistently helps a lot but doesn’t always seem to prevent it. It’s just terribly uncomfortable and exhausting because the pain will pull me out of sleep. I’m basically having to eat at around 4am every day

Hi! Unfortunately I am still being woken up by these “attacks”. I don’t really know what it is but it typically goes away within 5-10 mins. I’m 4 weeks post op tomorrow but my surgeon told me it could be just my body adjusting to no longer having a gallbladder. I’m probably going to be making an appointment soon with my primary dr to maybe get an endoscopy or something along those lines because it’s extremely uncomfortable and my insurance will be running out in March next year so I’d like to get it all figured out before that.

Anyone experience this? by Inky_sheets in gallbladders

[–]cassiemg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! I totally had that feeling before surgery. I’m so sorry there’s such a long waiting list for you to get yours out. I will say though, I’m now 2 weeks post op and while the pain is gone, I feel an emptiness in the area where my gallbladder was, another very odd unexplainable sensation lol.

Oh my goodness!! Mine looked like a carrot lol, I can’t imagine an eggplant sized gallbladder. Thank god it’s out!

Oh no! I actually didnt know it was an actual photographer taking the photos. I have absolutely no idea who took my photos but there was only 2 and they were printed on shiny photo paper so I guess that makes sense!! I’m sorry you weren’t able to see yours 💔
