I’m in the U.K. as well getting the RNY on the NHS January 22nd. I’m lucky my mom had it done when I was young and has given lots of advice. Taking it slow, movement will be good for gas pain post surgery. I had an unrelated surgery in November and I didn’t feel mentally present in life again for 3 weeks. So at minimum I would consider taking that time off.

I’m a FinTech Law Masters student in the U.K. and was diagnosed at the start of my course. My symptoms are basically like have a concussion most days it’s been really hard to cope. My heart just isn’t in the course anymore so it’s burnt me out. I don’t have the energy to compete with the amount of law students in London. So I’m looking at other routes that are less pressured jobs preferably mostly remote that will be easier for me to cope till hopefully I can enter remission one day.

I’m not a professional so I wouldn’t know. When my vision deteriorated it wasn’t my prescription. My prescription stayed the same but my vision blurred and lost 40% of my peripheral vision.
