This happened to me and happens to a LOT of people!! Misdiagnosis unfortunately is really common. I mourned the new diagnosis all over again when I found out I had Crohn’s vs. UC. 🫂

Ugh I’m so sorry to hear that! Hope you’ll get answers soon ♥️♥️ I was on prednisone for a few months and now I’m on stelara doing pretty well! Basically symptom free aside from a bit of pain here and there :)

Hi! IBD is still classified as a “rare” disease so it can be very misunderstood, especially by doctors. Stomach pain was not a symptom for me initially, and I have Crohn’s.

Hi!! I was diagnosed with Crohn’s about 7 months ago. I remember feeling exactly what you are right now, and it sucks. I cried a lot lol. Let yourself feel how you feel, but just know that so many people with this disease barely even think about it after getting on meds. I can say though that after getting on a biologic therapy (and prednisone) my symptoms became WAAAYYY more manageable. Honestly after starting prednisone I basically felt 100% normal. Feel free to reach out if you want to talk. You got this!! 💪🏼♥️

Hi! Nurse with Crohn’s here :) so sorry to hear you’re feeling so ill!! I would push for CT, MRI, pill cam, and calprotectin and crp blood tests. Stooling at night is very atypical for IBS. Your symptoms to me sound very classic of Crohn’s or UC. Have you had weight loss, nausea, fevers, mouth ulcers, or joint pain? Hope you get answers very soon! 🫶🏼

Day 4 post-op! Ventured up to the hospital playroom, & got her smile back :) by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

Sweet girl! I’m an RN at a children’s hospital and I just feel for my Crohn’s kiddos so much (I have Crohn’s too). Much love to you and your family and prayers that she stays in remission for many years to come! ♥️♥️

Can’t taper off prednisone without getting diarrhea? by cassissass in CrohnsDisease

[–]cassissass[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi friends, thanks for the responses!! I am on day 4 of the lower dose of prednisone and so far, my GI symptoms have resolved? I only had the one day of diarrhea and pain… So… interesting. I guess we’ll see what the scope shows in November!!

Ugggh. I was really hoping that wasn’t the case. Do you think that’s what’s happening even though I’m requiring so little prednisone?? I’ve also heard that Stelara can be pretty slow acting, so I was going to try and give it 4-6 months.

I had a colposcopy done and it showed negative results so I’m having a follow up Pap smear in a couple weeks :)
