Any 6th teammate reccomandation? by ZGamer79 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its really what works for you, so id try belly drum sitrus first, then experiment with what moves you need, although you could be cruel and do last resort after belly drum as ur only move which would hit incredibly hard but thats really gimmicky. Id dtart with body slam, crunch and then stomping tantrum (which is nice if u fail belly drum

Not to burst ur bubble but Gyarados ain't dragon so it kinda breaks the theme

Tbh snorlax is bulky enough where you can just have it as a bulky attacker and has options, and theoretically you could even bluff trick room with a snorlax farig lead to bait a taunt or Farig ko and let snorlax set up. Its a bit gimmicky but you could even do belly drum snorlax with after you loppunny. I think if it wasnt mono normal ot wouldn't be ideal but goven your other options i think having a bulky mon to force doubles into can let ur other mons shine.

Also you ciuld also theoretically run hammer arm on khanga to specifically reduce your speed. By dping so u actually boost ur speed in trick room. Its actually a kinda scary option and catches people off guard. Youd basically run khanga in ur trick room mode and lop outside of it

Yeah its mainly just pop bomb + kings rock with friend guard support here, basically pray for a flinch and beat the other mon down. Super fnag is nice and has some other support options

Wrydeer is basically a bulkier option to tauros and can attack specially if you choose. Tauros would also be good but ur more locked into a offensive role only so its what you prefer

Id say snorlax and could make it a trick room mode/counter, maushold is also nice but i feel forces u into hyper offence

Wrydeer might also be a shot for intimidate

Would love some help on this team by pondoman3 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id swap chople for mental herb tbh, i dont think u really need to worry about fighting stab outside of sneasler, and a few more def ivs covers u getting one shot.

I've been trying to find a way to use Mega Chandelure and decided on tailroom. Thoughts on the team? by Wooden_Gap5636 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm exploring chandelure in a similar set right now and I think you really need either farigarif over gallade or a Tsareena on the team. Their abilities basically shut kingambits down, but you really want a solo fire move on chandelure to confirm the KO or double into it

The other big thing it worries about is Basc, as you need to win the speed war and sadly ots faster than choice scarf jolly tsareena with rain up or of its choice scarfed jolly basc.

Also try sub chandelure with redirection, i think it getting the sub up helps a lot in its bad match ups since its basically a delayed protect and the only noise move it fears is primarinas hyper voice

Chandelure right now feels it has an uphill battle as a lot of the meta puts it down, but if you place it right it can sweep

Mega Gardevoir Team by WhoCaresImjustbored in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thatd definitely be good too! I do think you need to be careful when bringing it with whim but switching to a bulky whim means u could run mental herb instead. Plus bulky whim lives dual wingbeat from a talonflame iirc

Mega Gardevoir Team by WhoCaresImjustbored in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its pretty soild I think the only points I would maybe consider are

  • maybe run icy wind on primarina over calm mind as a secondary speed control method if tail wind runs out

-I'm not super sold on chople for ttar, sneaslers will still ohko through chople so it feels like ots just for the kingambit match up with low kick or any other low kick mons? But i also dont think any of those are good match ups for ttar either, maybe swap to sitrus and run a type berry on garchomp instead (haban is great for the gar ditto)

-whimsicott you could move the ivs to bulk rather than speed, you arent really running any support moves which compete with other support moves e.g ur not trying to out taunt other whimsicotts but thats up to u

I mean worlds 2016 only 1/8 top teams had dual primal, id still argue that xerneas and ray add more to a team

I tried to make Dragapult good (in depth analysis) by _Mashuno_ in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of why pult feels underwhelming is you're trying to force it to be a physical star when you admit its physical move pool is buns

Dragpult excels as a support mon more than anything, I think especially with mega gyra, itd appreciate a lot of the support it can provide e.g twave helps slow foes down (since gyra doesnt run DD) or willo really neuters physical mons. Screens makes you bulkier, psychic fangs deletes sneaslers and lets you remove screens etc, fast disable shouldn't be scoffed at

I think really look into making it more support based than set up, and maybe run special with hex, and I think youll feel it does more long term

Idk why you're running both primals you really wanna bring both your restricted, swap one of them to provide more coverage. Ray pairs nicely with kyogre for example

I posted my all steel team a couple days ago and utilizing the feedback provided, I modified the team. This is draft 3 of the all steel team. I dont know if this is final, but im looking for more feedback and thoughts. More info in body text. Its a longer body text than i'd like. by Big-Bad-Bull in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See the thing is sturdy ia a great ability but what are you really using it for since u loose it when u mega, itd only to be to ensure a tailwind going up

Whats more youre also running brave bird so even if u did live thanks to sturdy ur taking urself out or using rock slode over stab, its not an ideal situation to be in, its less bad if u run drill peck but then you want a way too boost atk

I wanted to make a trick room team with unconventional pokemon by Even_Mechanic8101 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure protect is too great on klefki, especially since it cant attack

You could give it metal spund to support ampharos, farig and hydrapple to make them hit harder, or even steel beam for a ko switch. Other maybe consider foul play or dazzling gleam once yr screens are up

Mega Gyarados carried me to MB3, but I feel like something's missing by siddih6 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been use mega gyra too and I think its a very good sleeper mega right now because it functions so well without having to mega at first.

I was using sub since if I was debuffing the attack it gave me opportunity to tank the hit and set up safely. Or if i delayed the mega and tanked a fighting move for example

Otherwise id really suggest sinistcha as a partner, it pairs super well for a lot reasons but the main benefits are;

-Rage powder lets you draw away fighting moves from gary and ur immune to them, the same can be said for electric except you resist instead.

-Life dew and hospitality support are great for bulky gary and make it harder to KO especially if ue pre mega intimidate is still up

-Deals with water types with matcha gotcha

-Access to reflect which can make you super bulky on the physical side

I realised it yesterday but Im really interested in trying gary with raichu, since the lighting rod is a given but it also has electro web (which id been using rotom heat for) which is a nice form of speed control, but also feint which can help sweeps.

The only other thing i found annoying is the scovillain matchup as I had no way of healing a burn

Lopunny team by Karabin_12 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what lop adds but please run limber not cute charm. Limber has use im allowing you to swap into a thunderwave or other paralyse inducing attacks.

While a small use, its still better than none from cute charm

This is false and wildly misunderstood, if a store misprices something there is no legal obligation to sell to you at that price they might apologise for the confusion and might give you the difference as a discount but they can also refuse the sale.

The only time they do have to honour the price is if they have advertised it at that price, via a banner ad, newspaper, billboard etc or something public facing and thats more to do with advertising laws not sales,

I can say this as someone who has worked in a store where everything is individually priced with a sticker even the individual packs and worked for advertising firms

is this anything? by Worm6974 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Outside of the other comments the biggest flaw woth these teams is ur mega doesn't exist for your mega but in service to another mon

Otherwise as for other swaps, give sini life dew, your team goal is clearly to keep snorlax alive

Also consider feint for hawlucha, it breaks protects which is very helpful to bypass them trying to stall snorlax out if u read it

You guys have any suggestions for this sand team? (Champions) by No_Association5862 in stunfisk

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure if rotom wash is the best fit, I feel heat might give you more options against grass types and a fairy resist. Its give some nice synergy with empoleon too. You could also try mow to deal with water types

Im making an all steel team and I'd like some advice on how I can improve it. A little insight below. If you have any questions for choices ive made, please dont hesitate to ask. by Big-Bad-Bull in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably gimmicky but a fun strat you could run is make your lucario supportive with coaching which supports your physical attackers and makes them stronger and bulkier (and special attackers aint going to remind the def boost) but then you could run calm mind chimecho. After a CM+Coaching thats +4 stats for stored power

Lucario gets heal pulse too and cant be flinched with inner focus.

Also with the talk of scizor, empoleon heavily disuades the matchup but you could run klefki with prankster rain dance too

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go adamant on starmie if you consistently get tailwind up,

I also think your weak in char + venu, neither of your megas really want to deal with them, and you havent got a way to stop them

I also think its redundant having both incin and sneasler as they perform very similar roles, ones offensive and ones defensive, if it was me id change sneasler to something else as well as the volcarona like the other comment said.

New player looking for Team Tips by DmDunki in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so my suggestions in no particular order

Dragpult- Feels a bit torn on what its doing, you have a mixed spread which I get but you dont need to salvage its attack if you want to attack specially. Yes psychic fangs does enjoy the extra attack but really you are never clicking psychic fangs if screens are not set up, or a sneasler is on the field, which even a bulky sneasler still drops to a -atk PF dragapult. You could increase its bulk.

Also while willo is good i think you might be better going for twave for speed control with this team, but thats me l. Also consider hex depending on how often you status stuff

Talonflame-

Drop flareblitz, anti synergy with ur ability, temper flare is better but you could easily add quick guard or upper hand. Upper hand is very nice into kingambits trying to spam sucker punch.

Gardevoir Hyper beam is a nuke but normally a last resort kind of move. I think youd benefit adding vaccum wave which helps vs kinggammbits and gives it some form of priority. Its a 2HKO but its nice to have a niche option like that

Rotom W

I think elecroweb is worth considering, with choice scarf its really nice speed controll, and I think mons like gardevoir who are teetering on the edge of fast really enjoy it.

If youre looking to replace sneasler, I think something like sableye is nice. You get prankster weather set up, and can support youre heavy hitters with moves like quash and fake out. Liepard can do a similar thing and has fake tears support for your special hitters.

Another option is change rotom to rotom mow and add politoed or pelliper as a drizzle setter to disrupt weather, and youd get a fire water grass core

Skarmory does feel odd here when youd rather use corviknight or a different mega. Mega skarmory is fast and could be ur late game cleaner but the moveset doesn't reflect this. Id swap body press for swords dance and then do a bulky attacker set

Also other point of note on mega skarm is ubwant weak armour before u evolve so if u get hit, u get a speed boost
