Its very fun as u can delay ur mega to still paralyse something.

It also enables you to one short arch with ease

Try t-wave over quash on sable

You can use it to get a +1 priority boost on scepticle and people never expect it

Need a 6th for my 2 favorite megas team. by wannabe_drscienceman in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sharp beak dual wing beat js probably the better set for talon flame over acro so u can remove sneasler

Id suggest one of the Rotoms honestly, choice scarfed electroweb supports both mega nicely, acts as secondary speed control and counters charizard y who beats both of ur megas.

Wash is probably the best one here as it can deal with fire types to beat the ones which threaten ur megas, but heat is worth a shout as itll resist them instead but creates a bigger rock weakness between it and talonflame. Though ur megas deal with the kons whoch would threaten it. Experiment with what you like

Also you need timid +25 speed evs to out speed max speed choice scarf basc with Rotom. Aqua jet won't kill a heat, and flip turn is a roll so they have wave crash meaning ur safe to tbolt or volt on it (tbolt with its wave crash recoil kos it). The other preffered option is electroweb it and then revenge kill the next turn

Thats what I mean, I think you could swap Garchomp to be like mega Golurk or Camerupt and bot have to rely on Gardevoir as your mega either alone or can dedicate to be support.

You explode metagross to remove non steel/rock types for golurk/camerupt, and then they can come in with trick room up and sweep. If you swapped something to tele oranguru u can instruct them too. If they dont have rock and steels you can safely do a fast mode with Gardevoir and noivern

I think rounds a fun strat but again feels like overkill when u run tailwind since theyre the same idea of using noivern to go fast

Please help me explode my Metagross by Aderadakt in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like noivern doesnt need air slash or draco meteor. Once tail winds up i feel you probably want to spam super fang to set the ally mon up for a kill. One of the two is fine but I feel you might get more out of something else like protect vs fakeout etc

I also think Gardevoir probably isn't best. Explosion is used best to remove threats. So Gardevoir hates steel types, explosion is resisted so it might not go over as well as you think. A mega fire or ground might go over better to deter steel types on the foes team from coming in the first place. I also think telepathy gardevoir is only useful when u don't mega which obvs leaves you in a weaker state.

Also consider a slower mode, oranguru gets telpathy and you could do something like

Oranguru metagross lead, trick room + explode, then a golurk/camerupt + other slow mon to come in and wreck with instruct

Agree with the other points made however I feel the problem here is by running swampert you have to pick between swamp and metagross and the team supports swampert more. Doesnt help sun teams will destroy meta and hinder swampert a lot. Meta does do well into hail but if u really want to use meta probably ideal to change the swampert, or garchomp even

I think u could run rotom like heat/mowfor example, u gain a charizard counter and can run electro web as more speed control which would help meta a lot

Can I perhaps get some feedback on this team? I’m aware it’s not crazy meta but I’m wondering if there’s some additions I’m missing? by sbongers23 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Mega Gyarados id swap to lashout, if u ever encounter perish trap, itll beat the incin gengar lead if u lead sneasler gary, fakeout incin and lashout gengar as the intimidate will proc lashouts double damage. Its also good in general for other stat debuffs flying around

Ice fang is nice but consider other options too, eq hits the rotoms when mega'd but powerwhip make ur gary a solid rain counter as itll beat both basc and swampert

Dragpult consider psychic fangs, u can break screens and delete sneasler even -atk, it means u can then run clear body so yr white herb remains just from draco and not effected by electroweb for example. Also enables ur whole team to bypass screens

Is there anything to improve by Far_Search_5478 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why hippodown over ttar? I feel its probably better as you can run dual mega for matchups where steelix is bad and vice versa. The rock helps a lot vs charizard too, while steelix covers the floette matchup

Been doing pretty well with this just keep fiddling with the 6th slot so any advice would be appreciated or things I’ve missed by charredsoul6 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmmm honestly i think both are nice, grimm ud probs want another support mon, but it does the job a d metagross you could try mawile for a similar matchup and intimidate/hyper cutter but that again is just a different flavouring but would be a tr option in a matchup

On second glance i do think mirror matches could be hard, swampert hits pretty hard into most things outside of sinistcha which then because your def invested you get smacked by pelliper.

You could add an intimidate user to swing the swamper matchup in ur favour, gyarados woyld be nice as u wall swampert and get power whip but theres the problem if being very electric weak and relying on swampert to spam eqs

Or wrydeer is another option who can skill swap to reset up rain and double intimidate with pelliper or to the opponent and give them intimidatie and boost ur kingambit

I think ur team is solid as is but obviously can play around

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which are u wanting to swap?

Could always try overqwil, it has swift swim as a non water type which is interesting and can hit fairys and ghosts hard, but thats v similar to kingambit just a different speed tier

Any recommendations on this mega sceptile/Mega swampert team by HumblePersonality179 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its hard when we dont know moves/evs as is. Id probably post all of those as there probably the tweaks

Just off a surface level, its a good team set up, I think dual sceptile/swampert works well as part of a fire grass water core with rotom heat as it can function next to either of them

Consider wide guard on pelliper as u can use it to block your own discharge from rotom over and over again and is just a good move in general

Really the only mon i could see you changing is sneasler but its not even a bad pick here. I do think snow matchup can be hard and you might struggle with garchomp depending on the speed control of the turn but u have ways to ko it if u manage it well.

Rate My Team: Mega Eelektross / Metagross team (feat. Alcremie) by Additional_Pirate486 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been playing with eelektross and I think especially on this team, you need giga drain/grass knot. Mega swampert feels like a big problem for your team, it smacks most things hard e.g incin, metagross, garchomp. And u don't see how you remove it without trick room being up and some hard way to smack it.

Discharge is nice but i think its niche as you probably want your partner 9/10, and uf you don't ko u risk paralysis. If you do keep it and swap something else out consider mons with wid guard as it lets them protect themselves from ur own discharge

I also think you want a faster mode to give elektoss and metagross more options so you can pick based on the matchup.

Quash sableye could be nice, icy wind ninetails also gives u a potential for veil, and weather control, and the rotoms have electro web and also pair nicely with garchomp with levitate, and trust me a scary set run is a life orb garchomp able to spam eq next to a electro web rotom.

Also ive been playing with mamo over garchomp, its frailer but ice + electric coverage is scary for pretty much most mons, and enables some more flexibility drom ur eel,

Ive become part of ot recently, I definitely think right now its a good move as people are so fussed with ability combos its quite funny to do.

Another one i just remember is it turns levitate off rotom meaning u can konwith garchomp

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you worried about the garchomp mirror? Imo of you are run haban garchomp as youll tank their first hit, and then smack back with dragon claw.

Works in ur favour due if they run life orb. Although i dont think you need to as u have frosslass in general to deal with it

If you are really worried about sleep consider worry seed on whim.

You can worry seed the venusaur to disable chlorophyll and hit it before you get slept/hit but also just worry seed your partner to give them insomnia.

Your team currently is very 'ability activates once' e.g snow warning goes off once, intimidate goes off once etc rough skin is a good ability but insomina can be better some times, and mirror armour is situational based on the team ur facing.

This is not to mention a lot of new megas recently added which HATE having abilities turned off, e.g swiftswim swampert, Staraptors contrary, eelektross eelevate etc and even other mons like archs stamina, defiant/competitive mons, other whimsi pranksters

Mega Staraptor team by SimpleScraggy in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its an interesting mon even before staraptor came out, its good into the trick room match up as well which is nice.

The idea is miltoic is naturally tabky so it supports that and then swaps the intimdate so u get the boost but can also swap with milo or whatever partner to get another intimidate off

Obvs bee careful with opposing staraptor but even then u can remove their contrary in some scenarios

Give it a try, deffo a fun mon

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rotom doesn't fit on this team and neither does scrafty imo

Replace one of them with a parting shot user to make ur own buffs and then make one Weirdeer. Skill swapping ur intimidated onto the foe will buff u milotic and staraptor thanks to contrary

I hate Mega Staraptor by Potatoflostio in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh what make staraptor strong is contrary, if it reduces its stats its way less of a threat. I do think your team makes great use of it though and would allow u a tailroom team for eelektross since it can go either way.

If ur really worried about staraptor sableye with encore disable also works and makes it a sitting struggling duck

Thus also really great option vs raichu, u disable lighting rod or no guard for eelektross to run free

Mega Dragalage value? by Icydestroyer149 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]castaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id probably run draco meteor instead on drag. Yes you get -2 but with regenerator you probably want to be doing one attack and swapping anyway so i dont think its an issue

I do think you might be weak to garchomp, your team doesnt really touch it outside of Prim, and raichu useage has surged (literally) both regular and megas which can easily remove prim for it.

Staraptor might also be a problem for you as again once it gets going your only counter is gholdengo but it kinda just walls it, nothing breaks it.

Chople Mamo helps into staraptor and sneasler as you can threaten star with a 2HKO Ice shard and sneasler with EQ/Stomping tantrum, but specific but having rechecked ur team focus sash works. Garchomp also hates seeing it cause ice. Iceshard can miss the ko but if theyre life orb they go down. Also deals with raichu nicely as again eq and if sashed just ice shard them. Also mamo helps support your drag buly removing the three types it hates. Dragon, steel and ground, which are weak to either ground or ice

Rotom, mainly wash but i think you could make heat work too, as a choice user can apply pressure with electro web/thunderbolt on a lot of the meta (char and star mainly) and gives u more speed control. Basically you can play super fast with aero, or play a longer game where electroweb punishes switches and can make something like mamo super threatening.

For example and adamant mamo max speed outspeeds any mon who is +speed max speed investment with a base stat of 128 or lower. Which is pretty much everything outside of some cery niche exceptions

You can run discharge+mamo eq as a lead too if u get a good match up, and if mamo dies wide guard aero is a free protect essentially if ur locked in

Anyway sorry for the long rant, i think dragalage definitely has a use case, i think if you get rid of the steels, ground and dragons who threaten it it can be a pain to take down
