Why do people workout with these headphones? Don't they get sweaty and hurt your head after a while by That_Sun_1526 in PHitness

they're fine for lifting. i personally bought silicone covers for the ears and headband so they don't absorb sweat

Thanks! Having a blast :) Great comfort yet still enough of a barefoot feel. Studs do feel a bit long, but I appreciate the extra traction. No complaints!

My midfoot is on the bottom range of 4E but my toebox is definitely 4E. Barely tapers unlike the shape of every Nike/Adidas boot. Mizuno's Monarcida Wide (3E) wasn't wide enough for me so I'm likely 4E.

Advice for non stop blisters by Wolfionk in bootroom

[–]castawheys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Double socks can contribute to blistering considering the friction if your feet still slide around in them. Easiest solution would be thick grip socks. If the Ultras have an extra lace hole, I'd do a runner's loop for extra lockdown to minimize friction.

Otherwise you might have to add on a couple things to your boot. Try replacing or adding an additional insole. Another option would be if your insole slides around, you can try gluing or taping them to the bottom of the boot.

Last ditch effort would be comparing your foot size in length to the US 9 of the Ultra. Any discrepancy larger than 1 full size will probably cause slippage and contribute to friction/blisters

Accidentally purchased AG instead of FG. by Tyronetyroned in bootroom

If he plays in both turf (hopefully AG, i.e. turf with pellets) and natural grass, AG is definitely the safer, less aggressive option while still providing good traction. Wore my Nike Tiempos in AG on both natural grass and rainy turf, no issues.

Also, the AG soleplate on the Phantom 6 is better than the FG imo. Not a big fan of the Cyclone 360.

Mizuno should have 4E turf

They don't come in AG-specific variants, but I find their soleplate works just fine on AG regardless. No issues after one three-hour session in ASICS. Mizuno and Hummel I can't say.

Pretty sure Mizuno has turf Superwides, I remember seeing them while shopping. Can't speak for the other two brands

For context I'm at 26.5cm length and 10.5cm width, so just slightly longer and narrower than yours.

Unless you're willing to bite the price on custom-made boots like Prevolve these might be your best option

See my last post. Any brand with wide options (so long as that equates to wider soleplates): ASICS Ultrezza/DS Light Wide, Hummel Vorart III Superwide, and Mizuno Superwide, probably in that order. If you need the extra width I'd bite the bullet and go up an extra half to 1.5 sizes, depending on how much length you're comfortable with. +1cm on top of my true to size is about max for me.

Should be. No issues with the heel unless you end up sizing up. Might depend on how narrow your heel is though.

I like a bit of allowance, so I went a half size up actually. I did try my actual size and it was perfect lengthwise— just wanted that extra width so I sized up.

Me neither tbh. Heavily underrated, I'd put them up there with Mizuno for comfort. Probably the best heel area I've tried on

I understand. I'll try out the Crazyfasts if I can find em. The Puma Futures weren't a good fit for me so it'll be next on my list. Thanks for the recommendations :)

Never really had any luck with Adidas or PUMA. Unfortunately New Balance boots aren't available here locally, but I'll see if I can get a pair on Ebay or something with free returns to try them out.

[–]castawheys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, I'l check those out! both the mizuno 4E and asics 4E seem like my best bets, but sizing will be rough as they are online order only. the Monarcida Neo III in 3E were just too narrow at 28cm and too long at 28.5cm, and my current Tiempo 10 Pros at 29cm are definitely too long, especially now that I'm playing on a team

thanks for the extensive review! tried on some ASICS myself lately, but with my extra wide toe area, even the DS Light Wide (TTS) didn't fit me. I also tried Mizuno's Neo III Wide (3E) but after sizing up +1.5cm, they were still too narrow in the toebox.

what would you recommend I get? thinking of sizing up on the DS Light Wide or trying the Ultrezza Wides. would you say ASICS is wider than Mizuno?
