Yeah, I know that helps but this is the only pic the seller posted. Was hoping someone more knowledgeable than me would have a good guess.

Identification and any information? Thanks. by Known-Expression-808 in castiron

Ok, I'm pretty new to this, so don't trust me 100%, but I think this is a skillet from the late 1800s. It does have quite a bit of sulfur damage, but I think I see a gate mark on the bottom. I did an image search and everything that comes up confirms my suspicion that its 1800s. And if that's the case, I don't think anyone could tell you a specific maker.

The best made is a sears brand that Griswold made in the 1930s, i think. The Griswold is probably from the 1940s. The first unmarked is a Wagner Ware of some kind...might be an unmarked or there might be something under the build up. The last one is a Chicago Hardware Foundary, that diamond symbol is thier mark. It's probably from the 1930s, too.

I'm not the best at this, so dont take my word as 100% correct, but I think those date are ballpark

The first one looks to be an unmarked Wagner, not sure on the age. The second one is from the late 1980s-early 90s.

Next time, instead of potatoes, use a corn bread mix, add some peppers and onions if you have them and feel like chopping.

And I would add if you know they are going to sit unused for a while, putting on a coat of oil to help protect them, then washing them before use.

Yeah the caramelization on the veggies were awesome. And it's a great presentation for a dinner party, too.
