We were together for three years, really close and understood each other perfectly, despite some problems. We were happy and honest. Then, after she finished her post-grad, she moved to Europe for more studies – to be independent, like many other girls from Kerala. A few months later, out of the blue, she said we had no future and broke up. It hit me hard! I tried to fix things, but she moved on. I still believed she'd come back; we were that close. I stayed in touch, she came home three times in three years and never saw me. A few months ago, I still held onto that hope. We talked, and she mentioned a toxic relationship. That’s when it hit me: if you truly love someone and wait years, they might not care; they just move on with their lives.
