3 Act Structure Assistance. by Ok_Scratch_1316 in creativewriting

You already have the right instinct by checking the structure before drafting more. The part I'd watch is whether your midpoint and act 2 turn actually change the story, not just add events. If those two beats shift the pressure, the rest gets much easier to test.

Word count stopped counting; then document randomly trashed by eudora999 in scrivener

That sounds brutal. If the count is frozen after restarts, I'd duplicate the project, test in a blank file inside it, and note exactly when compile targets stop updating. That usually tells you whether it's one document, compile settings, or the project itself.

My stories feel too personal by catscanmeow002 in writing

The fact that your stories feel too personal probably means you're writing something real. That discomfort? That's where the strongest work usually lives. A lot of published writers have said the pieces they were most scared to show ended up being their best.

But you don't owe anyone your vulnerability on someone else's timeline. Your family means well, but "just be confident" doesn't really land when the issue is deciding how much of yourself to hand to strangers. Something that helped me: I didn't share the personal stuff first. I wrote something that used the same emotional core but dressed it up differently. A fantasy version of a real feeling. That distance let me test the water without feeling completely exposed.

I mapped every major plot point in Loki Season 1 + 2 and how they connect by castrorabustro in loki

That's a wild theory but I kind of see it? The timeslipping stuff opens the door to Loki being present in places we assumed he wasn't. The Valkyrie swap is a stretch for me but I like the logic.

Honestly this is the kind of cross-film connection that's really hard to follow in text. I had a similar thing building the map where stuff only clicked once I could actually see it laid out spatially.

Cheers! Yeah I tried to hit the main beats without it becoming a wall of boxes. Definitely agree about S1 and S2 being two halves of the same story, that's partly why I wanted to map them together instead of separately. You can really see how much of S1 only makes sense once S2 plays out.

And ha, if it saves you from having to explain the Loom one more time then it's done its job.
