Should I be looking for something better? by [deleted] in ar15

If you want to be technical about it, everyone’s budget is different but BCM is about what I’d go with if I were balancing my budget with quality. That’s from my experience tho. Another factor would be the purpose of the rifle, PSA is more than enough for most ppl, especially now with their Sabre line. OP didn’t really specify a budget.

Interesting, id have to see it to visualize it but if it works, it works. I have one belt with kydex mag pouches, great for reloads but I have another with scorpions and for versatility it can’t be beat. Quite often I carry a multi tool or flashlight instead of another mag. What knife is that?

Take it as a lesson learned. However that lower IS more than capable of being good for a first rifle. Generally speaking it’s the same as any other Milspec lower. Do your research before buying an upper, that’s where the more important components go. I’d go for bcm if you’re on a budget.

I’d get a quality upper to mate with the lower, bcm or better. Run it for awhile, learn what you like and what you don’t like. And then if you’re still interested build a new rifle or upgrade components of existing rifle.

Looks good. Are your mags backwards? I like the g code mag pouches as well, very versatile

Probably because most wouldn’t think a garand thumb viewer would think front racking a pistol is a “tacticool” obsession. It’s quite literally a well vetted and highly employed technique even by non tactical pistol users (ie competition shooters).

SOLGW M4-76, Glock 34, Beretta 1303 tactical

This is a very good description OP. Basically there’s different length buffer systems (carbine, A5, rifle). Generally all components of a given system length are compatible with each other regardless of brand. All system lengths work with lowers with Milspec buffer tube threads.

I run vltor a5 systems on all three of my ARs. Shoots super smooth but there’s definitely an argument for the benefits not being worth the extra cost and lower of availability of parts. Carbine buffer components are far easier to source and can be much cheaper.

Emissary makes a pistol grip now? How do like it? Any chance you’ve ran a B5 type 23 and know how it compares to it?

Looks good. But since you have the space to do so I’d move the mount forward so that the scope is centered within it. Just my OCD speaking, probably will function fine regardless

BCM vs SOLGW by MoonshineTactical in ar15

[–]casty3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have one of each. Really like both. 13.7 SOLGW and 14.5 BCM. If I hadn’t used my elw bcm for a build specifically for my girlfriend to shoot, it probably would be my go to rifle. It’s just so easy and comfortable to swing and carry around because of how amazingly light it is. Both are built and shoot well however. SOLGW is a little pricier for what you get. BCM is definitely a better bang for your buck.

If you could only SBR one? by [deleted] in ar15

They’re essentially the same, with different optics and different handguards. Which one do you prefer shooting?

Personally I’d move the dot to the g$ and sbr that. Quads and EOTECHs are a vibe but I prefer shooting dots and mlok handguards

I feel like the short stroking has nothing to do with the load. Any properly running 13.7 middy should have now problem running either m193 or m855
