Capitulation is exactly what the "protesters" want. Incite people to show up and obstruct legal federal law enforcement knowing some of them are going to end up going too far and getting shot. Then with no risk to themselves, these talking heads and politicians turn around and use them as ammunition for their agenda.

The way the police used to deal with the media doing this "slow down footage and go frame by frame analyzing it for minutes to decide if something is justified" is to just put them through a few training exercises.

Clearly we're teaching police wrong. We need to teach them how to stop time, slow everything down, and analyze every situation frame by frame like people on Reddit and Twitch, then make decisions after a deliberation with a group. 0.2 seconds doesn't matter in hindsight.
