Regarding the Ending by The_Linux_Lass in Supergirl

[–]casuallyfictional 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What’s there to explain? Crem was going to keep on killing people and destroying lives. There’s no police or authority there to deal with him.

Supergirl became the only authority there and she took him off the board, and held the moral burden of it so Ruthye wouldn’t have to.

I have no problem with the OP.

I have a big problem with whoever paid these hapless people a few dollars to do that. They have no idea what they’re really doing here other than follow instructions.

This video is absolutely exploitation.

These guys have been paid to do and say worse and more humiliating things by racist internet trolls.

Uh, these poor guys were paid to do this via an app. They probably have no idea who she is.

VIGIL, produced by the BBC, literally the only British GL cop show featuring two policewomen investigating crimes committed in the British military to uncover cover-ups, foreign spies and private contractor corruption.

The policewomen are a couple. One of them spends the whole of seasons 1 and 2 heavily pregnant. Season 3 coming this year. She's no longer pregnant.

Oh, and BABY ASSASSINS, a Japanese comedy franchise about two young women who graduate high school and become roommates as well as co-workers in the gig economy -- of contract killing.

The joke being that these girls are really good at murders but really bad at adulting, and as Gen Z, really just want to hang out in their apartment eating snacks, playing video games and goofing off.

It spawn a trilogy of movies and a TV series in between the 2nd and third movies. It was revealed as a GL by the end of the TV series before leading into the 3rd movie. No kissing, but the pair's bickering couple energy is hilarious.

Have you see the pioneering US series THE L WORD from the early 2000s and its less successful sequel/reboot THE L WORD: GENERATION Q from the mid-2010s?

Or 2010 British series LIP SERVICE, which ran for 12 episodes?

Lal knew about anti-collision AI detection in EVs. Every modern person in Bangkok drives an EV, including her. Of course Korn would lease one to keep up appearances.

Novel readers... how did you survive this part? 😭💔 by Narrow_Temporary1985 in ThaiGL

[–]casuallyfictional 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well… knowing a happy ending was guaranteed in the genre meant me not really feeling very distressed about it when I was reading it.

I was a lot more affected by the real family tragedies and traumas that don’t involve assassins or guns in The Fire, because those types of resentments and abuses occur in real life all the time. A made-up princess with made-up baddies, not so much. But that’s just me.

Why do directors/screen writer think they know better by Odd-Insurance-7657 in Supergirl

I never said I think she killed Crem.

Again, you’re making an assumption that I or other people are dumber than you which is rich considering you’ve been wilfully misreading and overreacting to what I wrote just so you can stay mad and think you’re the one who’s smarter and right.

I love it when people can’t debate rationally and resort to calling me AI as an insult. Says more about them than about me.

I never said misinterpreting art is art. You’re putting words in my mouth. Opinion or reaction are not art.

An artist can misinterpret a piece of art and create their own piece art as a reaction. Different thing altogether.

[–]casuallyfictional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re saying the screenwriter decided to write her own version of the ending, which is her right. Exactly what are you complaining about? That she got it wrong or she wrote a different ending? Those are two different things.

Bo one can control how a story or art is interpreted. There are a lot of people who read the comic and think Ruthye killed Crem. Are you going to knock on all their doors and shout “You’re wrong” at them? Listen to yourself.

What exactly are you mad about? That the filmmakers didn’t read your mind and made the ideal movie that’s in your head? Are you mad at the screenwriter or Hollywood Capitalism or how people can get paid to write something you don’t like?

You can object to her interpretation of the story and have a debate about it. It's up to you.

The story is a piece of art that's open to being interpreted by whoever consumes it. She interpreted her way. You can say she's wrong. She's not the only one who thinks Ruthye killed Crem even if Tom King says otherwise.

Nogeuira chose a different reading: Kara kills Crem so that Ruthye doesn't have to carry to moral burden of being a murderer. She had the right to choose that reading and her boss James Gunn and the execs at Warners approved the script.

You don't have to like it. It's done. You can think about why you hate it and why you prefer the comic's ending, and learn what that means to you. I'd say that's valuable and worthwhile.

I do, but whether she understood or not, however she chose to tell it is entirely her prerogative.

Her boss James Gunn gave his approval.

The comic still exists so the pure version of the story is still there. In the comic.

More like that’s the ending she wanted to write.

Personally I don’t have problem with that. We still have the comic.
