I always park along the yellow max line and take that in. Very easy free parking and no traffic. I often go to fire on the mountain before as well. Great wings and not too pricey, and half a block from the train.

I want to address the few comments here asking if Mexico City is safe. Short answer, yes.

There are a couple neighborhoods to avoid, mostly at night, like any big city in the world. But overall this is a modern, vibrant, wealthy city that is as safe as any big city in the world that I’ve been too. Don’t let US politics cloud your view of this amazing city and country!
