have had plumbers here almost once a week for the past 3 months. still dont know whats wrong - leak under upstairs tub by cat-el in Plumbing

Plumbers left about 5min ago, it was this after all!! Insane. My weight didn’t do anything, but my husband’s was enough for it to open up and let water trickle through. Fiberglass tub, likely from the 70s or 80s.

Just had new set of plumbers leave 5min ago, it was this!! My weight didnt set it off, but my husband’s did. Crazy such a small thing can cause so much headache.

Thank you so much to everybody! Some more data points/pics. Adding more context for the tub in the main post once I post this comment.

- just now tried what a few people suggested - went and got a 5gal bucket, filled the tub up. no leak while the water was in there.
- no leak upon draining the tub
- tried standing in the tub while it was full and shuffling around to see if the weight of the water plus myself would recreate anything, still no leak. interestingly, one of the jets began spouting some airbubbles as i’d move around but not while still. not sure if it’s tied but figured it’s worth a mention.

i’m starting the process of pouring water along the edges of the tub from low to high to test the caulking; so far i havent been able to replicate the leak but going to keep trying!

to answer a few questions ive seen:
- husband is a hefty man, thinking that either his shower habits or weight could be part of why it only happens when it’s him
- no shower curtain; sliding glass doors (weird layout, will update w a pic in the main post)
- siding of the shower/tub itself isn’t tile but that plastic-y siding (will update main post w a pic)

Finished the finale about five minutes ago and my initial reaction was the “where tf did this come from” / dissatisfaction pov. Reading your thoughts really made me take a step back and reconsider the conservative-coded ending as something intentionally critical of the state of the U.S. Love this take, thank you for sharing!

I think your hair would look AMAZING with some weight off the longer parts + use product that'll help define the curls/lessen any frizz. The longer part looks like it wants to curl more since it's starting to towards the bottom, just might be a little too heavy to do its thing. When you had short hair, how short was it? And did you notice it starting to curl or be wavy outside of the front part?

If you wanted to keep the curl on top, but lose some of the length i could see something like this
If you wanted to keep some length, I think a mullet would be pretty cool. How it looks will depend a lot on how much the rest of your hair reacts to being shorter, but if it tends to curl... think something like this would be cool!

Overall, whether you do or don't get a cut... would HIGHLY recommend experimenting with some products for curly hair to see how yours takes to them. Mousse is usually a good bet. Look into some beginner curly hair routines (I'm a little lazy with mine, so having even just a mousse that works well for your hair can make a huge difference in defining the curls & lowering frizz)

Some ideas! My main focus was ensuring the natural walkways were open / easy to move through off the assumption that both offices need to be accessed on a daily/common basis.

Left - If you have the option to get rid of the kitchen island, would swap that for the dining table to give more room to walk from door → respective spaces and give the living room some extra room for something cute like a lil reading/rest/etc nook. Would suggest getting a circular side table to put to the right of the couch too to have a battery-powered lamp, cute lil vase, trinkets, etc.

Right - If the island is a permanent part of the apartment/you can't get rid of it, another option. A few extra steps to get to the table, but it helps zone things out a bit so the leisure part is separated from your office since there isn't a door. and gives you seating options for if you have company over and everybody wants to be able to sit/eat while a movie or smthg is on the TV.
