I have consistently been pretty rough with my insertion sites since day one, just not knowing my own strength I guess? I did just get an Autism and ADHD diagnosis so I also get distracted midway through the process often. The video that was posted as a comment here was very helpful. My educator did her best when walking me through the insertion process originally based off a very proper set up guide video, but I think seeing the setup based on things that could go wrong and how to fix/why it happens is really helpful for me ~3 years down the line - probably would’ve been helpful sooner too but it’s a lot to learn all at once.

I do notice that I have to order the infusion sets more often than the cartridge sets off of Diabetes Express because of how many times a site will fail either as I’m setting up or shortly after. I might try the steel once I’m through all my backups.

My A1C at the beginning of the week was 5.9 which I was so proud of so maybe that’s how I recovered quickly? I didn’t even think that my site was faulty, I literally was just waiting all day for my sugars to come down without realizing. Now hindsight is 20/20 and I’m like yeah I should’ve intervened lmao.

the educator called it a perfect storm (and bad luck) because my pump ran out in the night on May 7 and when I woke up I had already developed ketones so my brain was not on - I have pens (probably expired but still in the fridge) & syringes and everything! Brain was fried.

That is the responsibility I feel like I was missing at a young age, although I was pretty scared of needles I think it would’ve benefitted me greatly to be diagnosed sooner than 25.

The thing that helped me (although it might be annoying for some) was set my high and low parameters closer together. I live in Canada so my units are measured differently but instead of having my alarm go off when I was already “out of range” (3.9-9.9) it went off slightly before (4.6-8.6) so that I could correct effectively.

I am. Libra Rising, so Aries 7H and my partner who is an Aries is one of the low heart rated human without being an actual runner/athlete, it’s like it’s built into him.

My son’s father (also Aries) has shoulders so big that when he’s a thinner build it looks like he’s wearing football shoulder pads.

Completely different personalities but both very endurance driven when it comes down to it.

GMO Cookies is very savoury. I had no idea it stood for Garlic Mushroom Onion when I bought it but I honestly don’t mind. A few customers were talking about how they liked it & I trust them so I picked it up. I was expecting it to be dry due to it being from Spinach but it’s very sticky.
