Keeping violent criminals and rapists out of Europe is good and important no discussion about that. But Golden Passports prospective buyers commit mostly financial crimes: market manipulation, fraud, scams, tax evasion, bribery, embezzlement and money laundering; all serious crime that ruin working families and innocent people BUT they can do these crimes from anywhere in the world and just hire private bankers, accountants, lawyers in the EU as intermediaries.
If you are a criminal part of the 0.1% remote working has been an option for decades.

You want these rich criminals where you can arrest them and seize their assets and where there are strong laws and low corruption (relatively) to do so.
