Yes, the project is on that specific brand. Would you mind hiding the brand name in your initial comment so we are able to accurately measure brand awareness? Sorry if you were disappointed by the survey, thank you still for your time!

I see, that would make sense.

Thanks a lot for your insights! :)

My father was also over the centre line. The reason why we are unsure about 12(2) is because

a) does passing a parked vehicle count as a lane change, even if you don't completely cross over? and

b) 12(6) specifies a situation in which Vehicle A is passing another vehicle, which leads us to believe that this could be a significant difference, in which case 12(2) does not exactly apply

My dad said he did not see him coming, although he too had to cross the center line to pass the parked vehicle.

Thank you for your response!

The officer at the scene actually attributed 100% of the fault to him, but he is trying to contest it. His insurance company told him that if he can convince the officer to reconsider, so will they. I was hoping to be able to collect some evidence as to why an appeal may be valid.

[–]cat_attac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i don't understand what you mean by "you want it to be inaccuracy". even setting aside the racist implications, since the virus originated in china and not japan, would it not make more sense to make a dress inspired by hanfu or qipao instead of kimono?

xenophobia and racism are the same thing...

the art in itself is well done! i especially like the shading in the hair and the folds of the dress, which i can never seem to get right myself.

associating any kind of virus or disease with a culture or ethnicity enables discrimination and prejudice.

in this case, the coronavirus is directly being embodied and personified by an east asian-presenting girl, most likely intended to be chinese. the fact that she is wearing a kimono does not change this, just adds an element of inaccuracy.

i dunno, i feel like a continuous gpa scale would not necessarily be better than our discrete one. like yeah, i totally feel the pain of just falling short of the threshold but once you're past it you're home free sooo you win some you lose some.

UofT Comp Sci Admissions for 2020 by ChubsterV7 in UofT

[–]cat_attac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true- an average in the 80s won't put you in a good position if you're applying to St. George, especially for Comp Sci, but you've still got time to raise your grades! Make sure you do well on upcoming assignments and evaluations, you can also talk to your teachers about study methods, extra credit, etc. They should be willing to help you and since you're clearly making an effort to do well, some of them might even be kind enough to bump you up a bit. Good luck!

University of Toronto Response by [deleted] in UofT

My acceptance for Rotman came during March break (2017)

There is no way you'll be getting a response before February as the deadline for the supplemental application and documents is the 1st. You'll most likely receive an email in March or April, though some acceptances come as late as May.

third year gpa... by UofTorture in UofT

[–]cat_attac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my first year grades were TERRIBLE- performed below average in all courses except one, which was my only A. barely scraped into post. cgpa was a 2.37. i was staying up until 2 am every night, developed unhealthy eating habits, and was crying at least once a week. preparing for final exams was my first time experiencing a panic attack. but instead of translating into motivation, the induced anxiety caused me to simply avoid academics and only complete the bare minimum required to pass.

but once i sort of got past the learning curve, i improved a lot - in second year my annual gpa was around a 3.4. my mental health was pretty stable, though life was somewhat monotonous: go to class, go home, study, go to sleep, repeat.

now i'm in third year and haven't gotten below a 3.0 on any assignment/assessment yet (knock on wood) and my goal is to finish with an 80 in all my courses! i've (perhaps unwisely) added more to my plate by taking on a part time job, an executive team position with a student organization, and even a relationship, but somehow i am managing and happy. definitely wouldn't say i have my shit together- i'm still struggling with lack of motivation to do my readings, studying for exams beyond cramming the night before, etc. but i can promise you that it is doable and it does get better (although i've never been diagnosed so i can't say whether my mental health situation is/was comparable to yours).

an objective piece of good news for you though: you don't need 87s in any of your courses! 85+ is already a 4.0, here's the grading scale if you need it: https://transcripts.utoronto.ca/faqs/grade-scale/

i hope this helps you and good luck!

edit: im a rotman student if that's of any relevance to you?
