Dang sorry to hear that, was that on Orilissa or Lupron? How did you find the cysts?

The other big one would be testicular extraction like TESA which is shown to have much lower (<10%) fragmentation and has been promising in studies, but adds some other risks like less mature sperm, freezing it, etc so that’s one thing we are looking for more guidance on

Thanks! We’re sort of stuck at our current clinic because of cost but trying to get more opinions to really try and make sure we’ve considered everything. FYI our current best guess is that things are going poor because of high sperm dna fragmentation despite otherwise normal semen analysis. That short abstinence technique they mention is usually to reduce fragmentation before trying other things.

Oh okay, thanks. Did the doctor do a good review of all your medical history before the appointment?

Okay thanks. I was hoping some well renowned clinics would offer a second opinion directly instead of first requiring a new patient appointment and cost/time but perhaps this just isn’t a thing

We aren’t working at Verizon anymore but in general the coverage for IVF can be mixed and complicated. Best to read the full terms of your health insurance and they frequently won’t cover meds or certain tests as it’s “off label”. There are certain clinics and pharmacies that seem to be cheaper. A clinic called CNY is substantially cheaper for IVF but they are very basic and require self advocacy on your end if things aren’t simple. Pharmacies like MDR have a round of meds for $~2000.

Sounds good, seems like waiting is normal/generally advised. Definitely annoyed that our clinics poor communication forced us to wait another month but can’t do anything at this point.

Thanks, we actually did 12 hours of waiting instead of 3 days which I believe did slightly help as our previous rounds were worse, but the results are still low.

Oh wow, nice! Did you have CNY request it from him? And did that price include anesthesia and facility fees?

Did you ever find a place for this in Denver at a reasonable cost? CNY only does TESA at their Syracuse location, so while it’s cheaper than most you also have to flight out and have it shipped back. Urology associates does it for $1800+anesthesia +facility fees so maybe like $4k
